Gamboa looked very good last night against Solis but he also has looked mediocre in other fights when his opponent could deal with his early attack. As usual the girls of boxing scene will overreact to a single performance and will now say that Juanma has no chance.

It was good to see Gamboa & JuanMa yesterday after the fight saying they both wanted the fight. Top Rank needs to make this fight already. It looks like they are trying to build Gamboa a little more and establish him as a draw before they set him up with JuanMa. I personally don't think Gamboa will ever be established as a draw unless he beats a known name. Right now Gamboa is known amongst hardcore fans but that's about it. Top Rank needs to pair him up with bigger names so he can get some notice, and matching up with JuanMa would be exactly that.

As for the fight itself, I think its a 50/50 fight. JuanMa can and does get rocked meaning Gamboa can put him to sleep but on the other hand Gamboa also gets dropped and JuanMa has the power to hurt him. I think JuanMa is a more technical so I would lean to JuanMa winning the fight. Hope the fight gets made in 2011.

I would favor Gamboa too but its funny a couple of fights ago and even his last fight to a certain extent he was a overrated hype because he struggled a bit and couldnt stop his opponent. If Juanma goes out and stops Salido in 2 rounds you will then see people saying Gamboa has no chance.

Gamboa is a good fighter w/ power nothing special with him, I think JuanMa is a much better talented fighter and has potential to be great...His statement that Juanma has no chance to win is nonsense, he is daydreaming...
and you are daydreaming as well gamboa whoops juanma the mummy , you saw juanma the mummy give gamboa his props just look at the fight every time solis got droped juanmas eyes got huge like he knew whats coming to him ,tommorow youll here juanma say he cant make weight any more just like when he saw donaire ko old boy. *****"peeleft:

The Gamboa that showed up last night?!?!

I saw the same gamboa. with a limited fighter in front of him who lacked the ability to make it competitive fight and let a really good fighter dominate him.

No fighter, no matter how talented, can be expected to tear through every opponent they fight. Mike Tyson was once considered invincible; yet, even in those days, he didn't look devastating against every last boxer he faced. Gamboa's not going to look great against everybody, but his talent and ability is there for everyone to see. There's just no denying it.

Is Yuri better than JuanMa? I don't know. I can't wait to see that fight and find out. People have accused both fighters of being hype-jobs. I disagree on both counts. They are probably the two best fighters in their division.
