That's Calderon's strength his boxing. I just think Segura will be too much in the end. Like you said all it takes is one punch. I think Segura has all the confidence in the world now and all he has to really do is cut off the ring and the fight is pretty much his. Calderon does not have the power to hurt Segura which makes Segura even more dangerous.

If this was a Calderon fighting at strawweight and five 5 yrs younger i would take him, but Segura should be a flyweight or super flyweight by now. His size, power and youth are too much for Calderon at this stage. Who knows though Calderon is a master at what he does.Comment

That would be a truly great thing Ivan.Former champion Ivan Calderon has gone back to his basics as he prepares for the April 2 rematch with WBO junior flyweight champion Giovani Segura. The first fight, held last August in Puerto Rico, saw Segura end Calderon's unbeaten streak with an eight round TKO. The rematch takes place in Segura's home of Mexico. Calderon continues to tell himself that he is coming to Segura's turf to "get what's mine."

I dunno guys, maybe I am getting caught up in this, but the very worst guy to rematch is an intelligent pure boxer.
I believe that Ivan has gone over that fight in his head a number of times, has most likely kicked himself a number of times, and will be in a very good place when the opening bell rings.
Segura is a fkn huge mountain to climb, but Ivan's approach to this fight is near faultless.
What does he have left in the tank ?
How badly does he want this ?Comment

Two excellent posts.Well, he doesn't speak for all boricuas just like some of the other mexican posters do not represent the opinions and views of all mexcians. The comments made by BP and his other alias are exactly what you said: racism and almost no boxing at all. I am a very very proud Boricua but it doesn't mean I will trash mis amigos mexicanos just because there is a boxing rivalry between the 2 nationalities. Back to boxing, however, Calderon all the way but he better bring his very best to fight the hard hitting Segura. Sit back and wnjoy the show and we will all win as we watch two warriors lay it on the line! Calderon por decision dividida!
I hope you stick around and make many more posts bro
A very classy boxing fan.
Enjoy the fight.Comment

I gotta give my $0.02.....
I like the Mex/PR rivalry, but only in boxing context.
That racial **** is rubbish, and demeaning to the sport.
Same with the Mex/PI rivalry, or any other for that matter.
Boxing is what is most important, as bori84 pointed out.
Props to Ivan for taking this fight, and the best of luck to Giovani.
WARRR Calderon !!Comment

I don't like the rematch.. I felt bad for Ivan in the last fight.. He is clearly way too small.. His frame is just too small, very small bone structure.. At the end of the fight you can tell segura knew it too, that's why he was quick to hug him... I won't watch itComment
