This fight wouldn't be so bad if there wasn't the sergio mora draw.

I'd rather seen Berto vs Mosely, then the winner fight pac.
Which if Berto won, a win over Mosely would have possibly given him enough exposure to sell some tickets so manny wouldn't have to carry the whole fight.

Seems the storyline in this one will be, "Can Manny be the first to KO Mosely" last time we had that storyline in a Mosely fight it was "Can Margaritto KO mosely"

On top of that WW has become a pretty weak division, I mean if you want to rank Jan Zaveck, Vyacheslav Senchenko, Rafal Jackiewicz and Mike Jones a head of Mosley, then ahh, sure go right ahead but that's not realistic. I think it's fair to say Shane is the 4th best WW (maybe even 3, I mean who the hell did berto ever beat).

I never wanted the pac/mosley fight... most pac fans don't want it. it's a fight that arum pushed for and that arum put down the money for.

The Cotto fight was pretty close and Pac already fought Cotto, Berto is not a better fight than SSM......it is actually the best option for him now.

best option was jmm at 140. second best is vs berto for reasons already mentioned. shane fight proves absolutely nothing, he's shot, he gave up vs floyd. he got shut out except one punch vs floyd. even fighting timmeh at 147 is a better option right now.

this fight is all about the money. arum had the highest offer for pac if he fights shane simply because arum has the right to promote this fight solely. he doesn't have to share profits with other promoters...something that is not true with the other options, berto and jmm (back then).
is it the best fight available for pac? hell no...business wise, yes.

Mosley is currently the #4 ranked Welterweight so it's not that bad of fight, it certainly isn't the worst. Pac, Floyd and Berto are the top three guys, so obviously it isn't the best either. Margarito wasn't even ranked (unless you count the WBC rankings ) so it's better than that.

Right now Arum's got a good thing going. Fighters are leaving GB hoping to get fights with pac. If you have people leaving your competition just in hopes something will happen, its a good sign.

It'll be interesting once Pac retires to see what happens in the promoter world.

yes it has. I'd favor berto over shane right now as shane CANNOT pull the trigger anymore. there's a couple guys at 154 that could still come down from 154 and put it on shane too.

bottom line is that manny would do more for his legacy beating a young contender than trying to squeeze the last drop of blood from shot zombified corpses of hof fighters, just so he can have another hof'er on his resume
