My man, you do realize that the fact that PR is a tropical island, makes a big difference right? The constant sun in your face doesn't make you lighter, it makes you darker. and yes the sun has to do alot with it. I myself when I moved back to NY was a little burnt by the sun, but after living here has made my skin lighter, not that I am dark but it's a big difference living in an island that has no winter and living in NY where we have four seasons.
