Why does Martinez want to fight Cotto? Money. It should be pretty ****in obvious. He's not going to get a fight with Floyd or Manny, so Cotto is his only real option. Boxing is a business first.

No he wouldn't. He will never make close to the Big Three (May, Pac, Cotto), so he HAS to fight whichever is most viable RIGHT NOW to get some decent money. It is what it is.

I would have no problem if he faced Cotto because he is a former 154 lb champion facing a current 154 lb champion. Mismatch? Sure, but no one told Cotto to swim in those waters did they?

If Sergio is willing to go down in 154 lbs to fight Cotto i think the fight will happen in the future. but to say Cotto has to go up to 160 lbs and fight Sergio? i think its not gonna happen. Cotto has to protect himself. he even look small in a Jr. Welterweight. his power is not all that in higher division but he can definitely box.

I think we all know of his last four oponents, Cotto was the most dangerous. Hence, the catchweight bs. Mosley has lost a couple of steps, Hatton was a shell, and Margarito, while always a dangerous man, was coming off a layoff and wasn't looking his best.
