Basically Pacfans say Pacquiao had a better offensive showing, and other boxing fans say Mosley had a better offensive showing. That's all there is to it and I don't expect anything else, like a Pacquiao fan is actually gonna say Mosley had a better offensive fight than Pacquiao.

    No. Hell no lol.

They're gonna say Mosley was roiding, Margarito wasn't focused because of the handwrap incident, Pacquiao fought a prime Margarito. Bunch of bullshit from these guys like always.

Pacquiao landed 474 punches throughout 12 rounds and couldn't even knock down Margarito.

Mosley: 507 punches thrown throughout 9 rounds, got the TKO.

Pacquiao: 1,069 punches throw throughout 12 rounds, got the UD.

Give me the more efficient guy+TKO+better defense.

Shane Mosley had the better offense, defense, and used his energy much better than Pacquiao did, getting the job done early on top of that.
you should consider the size difference though? do u know anyone who boxer will give up 18 lbs and beat the way Pac beat Margarito? just sayin..

and one more thing. Margarito was more battered in 6 rounds than the whole 9 rounds against Mosley.

so its debatable. imagine if Margarito was the same size as Pac?

i think his point was that mentally, Margarito wasn't in the fight 100%.

While with Pac, he was more motivated to win and more focused since a win over Pac was his ticket to clearing his name.

Margarito certainly wasn't prime when he faced Pac. Just in better shape physically AND mentally when compared to how he was when he faced Mosley.

ALSO, he didn't have the size and reach advantage he had over Pac when facing mosley.

In other words, Pac had to work harder to land his shots against Margarito compared to Mosley.

And finally, Mosley didn't hold back when fighting Margarito.

Pac actually allowed Margarito to finish the fight and held back, opting NOT to finish Margarito off.

According to compubox stats, Pac was the overall more accurate puncher, in spite of throwing more than double punches than mosley with mosley getting 35% of 507 total punches connecting against Pac's 44% of 1,069 total punches connecting

All-around I'd give it to Pac...but Sugar Shane is a bigger puncher...Pac wore Margarito down with accumulation...Pac couldn't get Marg outta there with solid shots...

Simply, Mosley is a naturally bigger man...

manny was obviously holding back in the 12th round.

marg would have been knocked out if pac had put the same pressure he did in the 11th.

pretty impressive if you ask me considering the height/weight disparity

Pacquiao, Margarito wasn't even trying to win when he fought Mosley

IMHO the end result was also at par in brutality shane's KO breaking the granite chin and Pac's rearraging the aztec features to asian is as brutal as you can get...

Good post. Here is the bottom line Mosley beat Margarito at his own game, brawling. He bulied Tony, he worked Tony's body over and than he simply smashed him to pieces. Were their issues that may have impacted Margarito's performance? Sure he had to have been affected by getting busted with loaded wraps, but once the leather started flying it's all about what happens inside the ring. Regarding his weight, shame on him he and his team, they should have been better prepared and simply had some misfortune, but that is the way it goes. Its not like he was over and couldn't make the weight had to sweat off 3 or 4 pounds on a second weigh in. I give the nod to Mosley especially considering his age, past performances and the fact that Tony had looked like a granite chinned monster against Cotto.

But Pac also looked like a brutal punisher. He moved in and out and picked Margarito apart with speed and power both to the body and upstairs. You have to be impressed with Pacs endurance and his ability to take a punch, he fought a giant in Margarito and withstood some very hard punches. Pac probably could have stopped him too but in a very classy and obvious move he decided to not risk killing Margarito and carried him over the last two rounds.

You add both of these Ass whoopins up and Margarito is a walking question mark against most of the top guys now. Part of Tony's mystique was being able to take whatever you hit him with and keep coming and landing punches to get you out of there. I think this part of his game is a thing of the past now thanks to Mosley and Pac.
