Sergio should have gotten the 1st round, it was a more effective KD shot and PWill was stunned while Sergio wasn't really. Maybe you could call it a 10-10 at best but I can't see any justification for a 10-9 for PWill..........doesn't matter though Sergio proved he is better in the end.

I wouldn't agree. Martinez certainly had the heavier knockdown, but Williams outworked Martinez for the majority of the round. I usually score it for Sexio, but not always.

U can always look it up for urself... DUHHHH

Williams got a KD and landed more punches. Period. There's nothing u can say that makes that wrong. U can talk all u want about how those 3 punches Martinez landed in the round were more amazing than the 30 Williams landed, but that has nothing to do with official judges. But like I said, it's all a matter of opinion, and if u want to be an over excited fan boy for Martinez's THREE exciting powerful punches that knocked Williams head back, than that's on u. But the 2 judges that scored the first round 4 Williams have nothing to be ashamed of.

Well, when ur opponent only lands 3 significant punches in a round, while u land almost 30, I'd say u won on DEFENSE

When ur opponent is being backed up and kept off balance, even getting knocked down, by ur pressure, I'd say u won EFFECTIVE AGGRESSION

When ur the one pressing the action, and the fight is going at a pace that favors your style, I'd say u won RING GENERALSHIP

I'd say Williams won round 1.

I just dont see anyway that round can be scored for Williams. What did he do?

Technically for the scoring system, it could at worst be an even round because of Williams "knockdown".

But to those saying "Williams won the rest of the round" - HOW?
Threw more punches, landed more punches, like I've been saying

It was a close fight. However, the judge that only gave Martinez one round should be taken out back and shot in the face. Repeatedly.

              Ridiculous.

That being said, I would assume that Martinez is the overall winner and -- truthfully -- the "loss" didn't do much to his reputation or career. Doesn't always work out so well when someone is robbed or loses a close fight. But, in this case, it's something that didn't negatively affect Martinez.

Now, the Cintron fight is a disgrace to all humanity, not just boxing.

30 punches? where? download a good quality version of the fight and watch round 1 in slow motion if you have to. he landed 4 clean shots and 1 was when he was falling down from the knock down. he had to throw nearly 70 punches to land those 4. not very effective at all. martinez nearly doubled him in clean connects, landed the harder punches, had the harder knockdown, hurt williams, had better defense, threw and landed a high percentage of his punches while williams missed most of his. clearly a williams round indeed!

In my view there was no controversy, in the latter rounds you could see Martinez hadn't trained properly as he began to tire. PWill on the otherhand was always throwing punches.

PWill won that fight....a close but clear decision.

It doesnt matter now, Martinez exposed Williams as a glass jawed joke.
