I don't think it was a "gift." That fight is so close that it's easy to see anybody winning. I've scored it three times, scored it once for P-will, twice for Martinez, all of them by one or two points. When a fight is that tight, it's hard to say that somebody got robbed. That one scorecard was downright shameful, though.

Giving the first round to Williams is inexcusable.

The only reason Sergio deserved to win (as I thought he did) was because his was a real knock down, not a slip but some judges do things different and if they didn't care if PWill was hurt (It was at like the 3 second mark) he won the rest of the round.
And you DONT see whats corrupt about that?

1st Round
Williams grazes Martinez on the shoulder and he goes down. Williams hits thin air for most of the rest of the round.
Martinez staggered Williams with a left. Hit him with solid right hooks. Knocked him down. Hurt him. Had his eyes rolling in the back of his head.
I just dont see anyway that round can be scored for Williams. What did he do?
Technically for the scoring system, it could at worst be an even round because of Williams "knockdown".
But to those saying "Williams won the rest of the round" - HOW?Last edited by Dirk Diggler UK; 03-17-2011, 02:58 PM.
