Why Would Roach Tell Shane he is Too Good?

When Shane was champ, at his recent best, and the fight made sense Roach told Shane he is too good we're not going to fight you. If this is the case doesnt this by default also make Floyd too good. If Roach refuses to fight guys that are too good then we wont see a May-Pac fight ever, unless Mayweather loses some ability and is no longer too good. Pac, stop cherrypicking and fight somebody too good for a change.

I think Roach believes Pacman is better than Money Mayweather though..

Well Mosley was interested in the fight and Mayweather doesn't seem too interested in the fight.....

Thread of the Roach saying what the TS said: http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=353550

And now the answer is, yes, because you're not that good anymore.

n 2009, shane was coming off some big wins. therefore, mosley was high risk, no reward.

y not fight ricky hatton n 2009 4 more money? lower risk, high reward.

same w/ floyd. y fite mosley n 2009 when u cud fite marquez 4 more money? again, lower risk, high reward.

at least pac/floyd don't fite goat farmers frm czechozlavakia.

I have no complaints about Team Pacquiao refusing a fight with Shane back then since his choice was Cotto who I thought had an equally good chance. Hatton gave him the lineal junior welterweight title as well. You can't fight everyone. Fighting Shane now though is a different story.

"Shane came to the gym twice to ask me to let him fight Manny," Roach says. "I told him no both times, and both times for the same two reasons: First, there isn't enough money there, and second, you're too good a fighter."

But coming off a lop sided loss to Mayweather, and a draw against Mora who just lost to Brian Vera, you have your chance Shane. You are a good candidate for the GOAT.

Even in 2009 why would they outright duck Shane but act like they want Floyd, as if Floyd was a lesser threat..
