If he was injured from Janurary to April the year wouldn't actually start till April, on top of that we don't know what exactly is on the contract. If it says "offered 3 fights a year" and nonito turned them down Top Rank is not in breach, if it says he HAS to fight 3 times a year he can't constantly turn down fights because he doesn't like what he see's that would put him in breach.

Am sure Nonito has a minium that he has to make with Top rank, So even if Arum offer him 3 fights a year like his contract stipulated he can still be in breach of that contract if he doesnt offer Nonito the minimum stipulated in their contract.

Am sure Nonito and his team have looked this over and over before jumping ship and if they've not them GBP would have scrutinise the situation before they jump on nonito but strange things have happen before with GBP.

Sure, Nonito is going to make a lot for his next fight under Golden Boy, but his stock is not going to go up like it would in Top Rank and most of all, he'll never get Gamboa or Juanma in the ring now which is where all roads I'm sure were leading. He's taking 1 million now, instead of 500k for his fights. The problem is he is probably at the ceiling of what he is going to make under Golden Boy promoting him, boxing is about PROMOTING yourself so you get more money for fights later and more exposure for things like advertising, Golden is a 10 year old company, there is no way they will do anything as good as Top Rank its that simple now and for forever.

I mean seriously guys, Oscar made his name BECAUSE of Top Rank promoting almost his entire career. Essentially you are going to side with Oscars promotion company, instead of the side who got Oscar big enough to even MAKE him a rival, I'm surprised at how genuinely ****** most people are on this website.
I'm sure Ol Bob has a good team at Top Rank, but... what if Ol Bob dies tomorrow?

one, im pretty sure it was a 3 fight a year guarantee, just as it was with shaw.

two, im not sure it works that way, if its a deal based on a number of years, u count based on the time in which the contract stipulates the deal begins. this is not a contract based on a set number of fights. so the yearly period means everything.

            To everyone in here:

Raise your hand if you've actually read the contract between TR and Donaire?

            ... ...

Because a lot of the statements in here sound like assumptions.

            "perhaps.." "I'm sure.." "I think.."

            Just sayin'.
