pac at 19 was unknown but already a lineal champion in a divsision not a lot of people give a **** about......canelo is fighting at a way more popular weightclass....a champion at 20 but a paper champion....he is a huge draw tho, thats what impresses me about him....

This just shows that the two are cut from a different cloth, one took the hard route to fame the other had a smooth path outlined for him.
I wanted to see Canelo do well but I think they're are stunting his career by throwing him in the spotlight so fast. There's less incentive for him to grow and desire for him and his promoters to cash out on him. By the time he's in his mid 20s he'll be finished.Comment

Sadly i agree, they will build him up on journeymen and when he steps in the ring against an elite fighter he will fold.This just shows that the two are cut from a different cloth, one took the hard route to fame the other had a smooth path outlined for him.

You made the point !!!This just shows that the two are cut from a different cloth, one took the hard route to fame the other had a smooth path outlined for him.

Pacquiao = Hard way
Canelo = Easy way ........... Simple math !!Comment

I second that. Canelo hasn't fought anyone of considerable interest; I mean come'on Matthew Hatton? At 154lbs no less; Hatton is a welterweight at most. Hatton was the perverbrial "T-ball" that was set on it's stand so young Canelo can come up to the plate, and when he was good and ready, take a big whack at the ball. Then go run the bases. When Canelo actually comes face to face with someone that will give more than just a body to take a whack at, he will fold. If that someone across the ring is Pacquiao (hypotheticly speaking, b/c GBP and TR's hate for one another is palpabale), Canelo will wind-up back in his home town selling ice cream at his pops shop. After he goes to the hospital for a complete check up.This just shows that the two are cut from a different cloth, one took the hard route to fame the other had a smooth path outlined for him.

I HOPE Top Rank would make this fight next with Manny Pacquaio after Mosley. Mayweather may not be ready at all this year with all his garbage.
But a fight with Canelo at 147 against Manny Pacquaio would be AWESOME for each Country represented. That's bigger than Marquez bout for many obvious reason. One Canelo is young enough, but being spoon-fed, therefore, valuing his a bit higher that most boxing pundits believe. Pacquaio would is in his PRIME. Beating another a young-Undfeated-Mexican would drop would put GBP and Canelo in place--for hyping, selling Canelo like hot-pancakes.Comment

Canelo would have a hard time being the lineal champ at 154 right now. He needs quite a bit more seasoning and better defense.
And, "beguile his youth"? Does anybody edit these articles? Sadly, that isn't even a typo. It is just bad English.Comment

I think he beats Chavez. If lyell had real punching power he wouldve knocked Chavez out. He might have won anyway.
But Canelo needs to fast track because he will never be a smooth boxer who slips punches and counters. He will be crushed as soon as he fights a boxer who can match his power. I cant be mad with Golden Boy for pimpin him out with journeymen and smaller guys because he doesnt have what it takes to be great IMO. Just a good show.Comment
