Anyone mentioning that Cotto is a likely fight for Martinez is crazy. Cotto just like Manny both clearly state that Arum picks their opponents. For anyone to believe that Arum is going to let Sergio fight his two cash cows is delusional.

I'm basing my opinion on what Cotto has done in other weight classes. As far as I can tell, he looks like the same Cotto at 154 except slightly bigger. It's true he hasn't done much at 154, but I don't think those people you listed could necessarily beat Cotto. In my book, Cotto has only been beaten once by Pacquiao (no shame in that). Margarito cheated. We'll find out for sure in the rematch.

At least Lou Dibella finally understands that Manny's too small. But don't they realize that Floyd's got court hearings? He won't use Sergio as a tuneup for Pac.

pac is already fighting in his 8th or 9th division. he doesnt need to prove anything above 147. martinez needs to stop picking on fighters below his division. he's starting to look like andre berto.

True. Mayweather is his own boss. He can fight anyone if he wants to. Sergio wants Floyd badly. He is willing to take Floyd's OST. We'll see Floyd's response in the coming days.

SAMPSON LEWKOWICZ: "COTTO WILL FIGHT SERGIO IN SEPTEMBER"

"I have a verbal agreement from Bob Arum that Cotto will fight Sergio in September," stated Sampson Lewkowicz, world-renowned adviser of Sergio Martinez, as he gave FightHype's own Mike Juhas an update on the future plans of the middleweight champion. According to Lewkowicz, both he and Arum came to a verbal agreement that a bout between Martinez and WBA jr. middleweight champion Miguel Cotto would be much more profitable if it takes place during the latter part of 2011, after both fighters have had another opportunity to showcase their talents again.

The conflicting fights on March 12, the summer fights, the trash-talking... all part of the scheme to make the fight as big as possible in the fall.

                    Martinez would melt Cotto.

Very true. That's why Mayweather vs Martinez is the best fight for the fans.
