I think he could make for an exciting fight with Ward.. Which would be a feat considering I find Ward to be very boring. If Martinez were to fight the winner of the super 6 and win, he'd be huge. I can't wait to see what Dibella's move is..

Based on their last fights, Sergio would outweigh Pac by 22 pounds fight night (170 vs 148).

22 pounds more than 170 is 192. Which division typically has fighters that weigh around 190 on fight night? Light heavies.

So that settles it. Since Sergio is now the P4P king, he needs to fight the light heavyweights.

Do we know what Mayweather's last fight weight was? They didn't release that info right?

Maybe because in his last 3 fights at Middleweight he has already been fighting bigger opponents due to already coming up 2 weight classes from where he began. Also how many other SMW's started out at WW? It just isn't a natural progression but now Sergio is expected to do it because he's winning, getting recognition and leading Manny/Floyd Fanboys to get jealous and state that because Manny Pacquiao moved up 8 weight classes, everyone else should too

Sergio was at one time a welterweight, so this is already his 3rd division. The difference between 147 and 160 is huge. You typically have much taller and bigger men at 160 (Pavlik), whereas 147 typically doesn't.

On the flip side, Pac and Mayweather both came from the lower weight divisions. In the lower divisions, the differences in weight classes is not as significant IMO. From flyweight to featherweight is only a difference of 14 pounds, which is about the same as the 13 pounds from WW to MW. So yes, Pac went through all these weight divisions, but it is much easier to conquer divisions when the difference is not as much.

If Sergio went up to SMW, that would be an increase of 21 pounds from his starting weight, but only 3 weight divisions. Whereas Pac started around 112 and by going up about the same amount in weight, he's able to climb 6 weight divisions.

Not making excuses, but it's kind of obvious that it's easier to climb in weight in the lower divisions.

I understand that the advantages of weight are more impactful in the lower divisions and that's why they have more weight classes, but it doesn't discount the fact that it's easier to go from flyweight to lightweight than from WW to SMW.
Sorry to **** up your reasoning, but Manny started at 108 and is fighting in the WW division (147); that is an increase of 39lbs or 36 percent of initial weight. But even if we forget (for the sake of your argument) that Manny is fighting at WW and say he's fighting at SFW (130lbs, which everybody knows he can't make anymore) that's still an increase of 22lbs or 20 percent of initial body weight.

Sergio, on the other hand started @ 147 and we're asking to see him @ 168. As you said, that is an increase of 21lbs or only 14.3 percent of initial body weight.

Therefore, it is asking less of Sergio to fight @ 168 than it is to ask Manny to fight @ 130 ,which (again) everybody knows is too light for him these days.

                Your point is crap.

No one is expecting Martinez to jump 8 weight classes, that would put him at heavyweight and is ridiculous. With Pac, May and Cotto likely out of the picture who would you prefer he fight?
