Dzinziruk is undefeated and champion at 154
If Martinez can call Mayweather/Pacquiao at 154
maybe he fight Dzinziruk at 154 atleast to silence some critics

Although it is a win for Martinez it is somewhat nothing spectacular
since the guy he fight never fought at 160(correct me if I'm wrong)
    Its like the Mayweather-Hatton.
He was the favorite and expected to win.

Fans may give him credit but not the critics. He is strong at 160. He wants No. 1 P4P rank? then wipe-out 160 division then move at 168

Whos fault is that? Too dangerous an opponent, everyone avoided him. He still holds a title at 154 and happens to be the longest reigning champion in boxing today with 6 years and counting.

Many fighters suffer this fate. They never get a chance to shine because guys who happened to catch the publics eye and get famous - are then given a pass by the networks and never have to fight the talented unknowns.

Thank god for Shane Mosley or no one would have ever known who Ronald Wright was.

Tonight he out jabbed the most efficient jabber in the sport. He also countered the most efficient jab in the sport at will both under and over. He showed great head movement, better balance than usual and again, great power and amazing speed.

In his last 4 fights we've seen his heart, his power, his skill, and his ability to fight long, mid, and close range. We've seen that Sergio is mentality a complete fighter and physically too. He has yet to show us discomfort when being outboxed like Pavlik began to do, out worked like Williams did, or when in a Brawl.

What is so over hyped about him? If MArtinez is overhyped, then by god so is Winky Wright!

Another guy who didn't get a break until late in his career and only has a few key names under his belt but we all KNOW he was the real deal because he delivered when he finally was given that chance.

Everyone can be beat, obviously. By this logic, i guess the entire sport is overhyped.
When people are saying he should jump Pac and May guys who have earned there spots over many years fighting the elite,it becomes a bit ubsurd. Serhiy Dzinziruk,Paul Williams twice,Kermit cintron and Kelly Pavlik are his last 5 fights and outside of Margs who beat him are the only big names on his record.now compare that to Andre Wards last five fights Sakio Bika,Allen Green, Mikkel Kessler Edison Miranda and Henry Buchanon but he is not even rated in the p4p top ten.

and you also know who Dizzy is... but outside of you and a select few hardcore fans.. Who else knows who dizzy is and who else knew who Winky was? get real.

I can count winky's "best wins" on 1 hand. It's not his fault.

Ward is a great argument for p4p, a lot of fighters are right now. 168-175 is actually the deepest division in boxing, just being overlooked.

Ward, Bute, Cloud, Froch, Dawson, Hopkins, Dirrell, Kessler, Miranda, Pavlik (possible), Abraham, Johnson, Pascal

Both Ismayl and Yordanis are probably ready for the ground scheme of things as well this early in their careers based on the extensive AM experience alone. (like Gamboa and Rigon )

So it wouldn't be an absurd argument you're making. The thing though, is all of the "super" fighters as Kellerman would call them.. are making their mark against the best opposition and doing it with relative ease. That's impressive. Honestly.. I think if we were going by resume alone - Froch would probably be top 3 or 5? Not sure, i know his resume is incredible though at this point.

My main concern after last night is that Sergio was completely gassed

He corner had to break the rules to get him a couple more seconds before he came back in the ring.

He's a a balls out type of fighter and is not afraid of the lime light.

Its all popularity people are loving Sergio right now,so where he is a legit 3-5 p4p the popularity is bumping him to 1-2.I will say this he deserves his ranking much more than Nonito Donaire does.

As for the 168 guys i think Froch Bute and Ward all have legit claims to p4p spots and if i had to pick one it would be Ward.

Bye the way guys nice discussion,i am enjoying myself something hard to find in nsb.

What i thought was weird was i did not hear them comment on that nasty cut under Sergios eyebrow that was caused by a jab.
