Comments Thread For: Floyd Mayweather Can't Beat Judah Again, Says Whitaker

Whitaker knows his boxing inside and outside of the ring,no doubt about it. This statement blurs the line between trainer and promoter which is generally more common these days.
Linking a top fighters name to yours through the press is a tried and tested promotional tactic.Zab Judah is still a well known name in boxing. His stock will have only increased with his last win. So throwing Floyds name into the mix has a desired affect for Judah's team, publicity. And publicity helps his career prospects. Get the headlines, get people thinking, get people talking, like me and you guys.
Regardless of how realistic the prospect of a rematch and its likely outcome is, getting column inches seems to be the priority here.Comment

Looking out for his fighters best interest by trying to lure the big fighters in to fights. That is what Roach does and the *******s don't frown on that. Not like Floyd's gonna fight Judah and if he does, it's not like he'll be fighting some one coming off a loss like some one else always does. Personally I think this match up would be trash and I don't want to see it unless Floyd guarantees us that it's just a tune up to a Pacquiao fight or another big name. But Mayweather-Judah II as an actual big fight, no!Comment

That's not even close to being right. At the most Judah won 4 rounds out of 12.I actually enjoyed the first bout, I thought it was fairly competitive, I don't remember how many rounds I gave to Judah but, "the first 6" sounds about right (more like 5 rounds), and then Mayweather went on to get the rest, and that point deduction for the low blow pretty much sealed the deal for a Mayweather UD. (It would've been interesting if they called the knockdown, when Floyd's glove touched the canvas).
As for a rematch, ehhhh, let me see more of Zab before we go down that route.Comment
