Comments Thread For: Edgar Sosa-Pongsaklek Wonjongkam Getting Close

Reports in Mexico suggest that a WBC flyweight championship bout is getting very close for either May or June. Former champion Edgar Sosa (41-6, 24KOs) would take on the division's ruler, Pongsaklek Wonjongkam (79-3, 43KOs) of Thailand. Wonjongkam has only been beaten once, by decision, since 1996. Sosa has won four in a row since the two round TKO loss to Rodel Mayol in November 2009.

This is a very interesting fight. Wonjongkam looked old and his reflexes were a lot slower against Sokchai.

He may get taken out here.

IDK man, he looked bad IMO against Sokchai.

However, it'll work in his favor that Sosa isn't like Concepcion and Segura who bring power and all out pressure. I don't think he'd be able to deal with that at this stage.

He didn't look great. I'm leaving it down to an off night

No in all seriousness, I'm a huge Wonjongkam fan, one of my favourite active fighters. He did look bad in his last fight against Chokchai but I think he can beat Sosa and I'm rooting for him all the way.

Do you think Wonjongkam will make it into the Hall, regardless of whether he wins or loses against Sosa?

I saw you put Chokchai and started thinking all this time I've been calling him the wrong name, so I checked boxrec.

That mother****er is already going by another name. These Thais and their sponsors.
