That end of 2006, beginning of 2007 rating. If you look nobody did anything(besides Mosley) to warrant a move down or up from the beginning of the year to "The World Awaits"

Then after Oscar "strong" showing against Floyd, coupled with Floyd moving back down to WW and Kassim Ouma losing, at then end of 2007 beginning of 2008 is where Oscar was ranked #3 at 154.

Well from what I remember off the top of my head.

Oscar was ranked at #6 after he fought Mayorga. Sergei was #5 with Ouma #4, Kazrmazim at #3, Spinks #2 and Mosley #1.

Mosley and Ouma vacated the division before the floyd fight both of them leaving the rankings.

Spinks by default went to #1 and Karmazin went to #2. For whatever reason moving Oscar in behind Karmazin at #3 and moving Sergei down the list for no reason. (I'm guessing to make Oscar look better than he actually was for Floyd.)

If he was #5, who was #1 #2 #3 and #4? Because I don't recall who they were a the time.

Either position he was still a paper champion anyway.

Ouma didn't vacate 06 he had that lone fight with Taylor at MW. It was a one and done deal. And, since he didn't lost at 154 it didn't hurt his ranking at 154. He stayed where he was at.

Ouma went down the ratings when he lost to Roman at 154. But, that was after Floyd-Oscar.

Ahhh, was a long time ago lol

I'm quite sure they took Ouma out when he signed to fight Taylor and I know they dropped Sergei drastically for no reason at one point but that could have been after the Floyd fight to be honest

But it was 4 years ago so I could be wrong. Who cares really it's still a paper title.

Do you have a Ring Magazine around that time? I did but I no longer have no 07 issues. That will clear this up.

Let's be honest here, would you give him more respect?

Or would your list just include the "Overrated Cotto" and "Cheater Margarito"? I think the answer is clear>

Corrales! Im surprised noone has mentioned that fight yet. He reduced a heavily favored undefeated puncher into just another hopeless challenger. And I like Chico.

I'm no May-hater fan but the Zab fight was his best, for the first time in his career he was the slower fighter and he over came that.

                  Exact same situation

What were debating really means nothing anyway in both situations he's considered Top 5 and in both situations we identify it's a paper title.

It's still however a solid win IMO. Not great, but solid. You may disagree with that

4 years, I can't believe it. Where does the time go.

Morales Manny lost to the best version he faced not impressive

JMM- The first fight was an embarrassment no way you should let that fight slip away, the second one was his best win.

It doesn't stack up~ Manny is in the same boat as Floyd longevity is why he is on the list also
