He's a limited fighter with great power at 122 and often, that is enough. At 130, he doesn't have power so he's a "B" level fighter.

Matthew Hatton had zero power at 154. Zero. He however had way better boxing skills than Ponce De Leon and was definitely game. He also appeared quicker than Canelo, which Ponce De Leon certainly was not.
ur train of thought makes no sense. matthew hatton and de leon are different fighters but at the end of the day de leon is a tougher test than matthew hatton. nothing left to say abou that.

All the outrage at the Broner decision is a little over the top. de Leon showed alot of grit and heart in the fight but was severly out boxed by the underwhelming Broner. The Problem showed much better ring generalship and was able to connect with a number of crisp hard counter shots that had more effect than de Leon's looping left ha...nds that landed did. Obviously the 99-91 score was ridiculous, but the vitriol of the hater's screaming how badly Ponce got jerked is almost as ridiculous. To condemn a 21 year old kid coming off 10 straight ko's for showing too much respect for a crafty southpaw ex-champ is ******. Clearly Broner studies Mayweather tapes the way priests study scripture (he mimics Mayweather's moves down to his facial expressions at times) but he would of been wise to study the tape of Mayweather vs Marquez, where Money May dominated by being first and boxing behind his jab, rather than waiting on his undersized and outgunned opponent. I'm sure GBP will be in his ear to be more explosive his next time out. I'd love to see an athletically gifted counter puncher like broner against a sharp pressure fighter like Rios at some point down the line.

de leon is a featherweight at best and the fact that he fought this chump at 130 and won shows me that broner isnt anything special. another haymon hype job. he is lucky he got that gift decision.

Typical African-American fighter. A runner, hugger, coward. Ponce was robbed and proved he was more macho. Mexican heart.

Broner sucks and in my opinion I scored the fight the same as Harold Lederman. Broner lost that fight and got gifted the decision, and I don't know what the judge that scord the fight 99 - 91 was watching.

This is boxing yet all these shut up and fight post are always on here. Someone even said skill wise he sucks........wtf?

De leon is getting praised for what? He gets credit for landing weak ass straight left hand body shots. Did he out land broner? NO(ok by 1 punch) Did ponce out connect broner? NO and yes defense is a part of boxing. When ponce went upstairs I saw a lot of swing and misses followed by a strong counter. No broner's performance wasn't a thing of beauty but again he's 21. I dont remember broner being backed up all night, ponce had his back on the ropes almost every round. He shouldn't get credit because his opponent wasn't active. You have to do something with that inactive fighter and ponce never did.

As many punches landed with a much higher connect % and the crisper cleaner harder shots all in your favor..........Broner won.

The judge who had it 99-91 should be fired. I will admit it was a lot closer than that.
He is still a poor man's Mayweather http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6qQX...eature=related

That link shows Mayweather at 24 fighting at Super Featherweight. He won his belt way before that age. Also, I pick that fight because it showed him in a more even field because he dominated that division. He was aggressive and he was really good at knocking guys out left and right. While, this Broner guy isn't even good. He should have knock the guy out to make a statement but he didn't. He isn't champion material which means he is not even worth considering as a star material. Unless, of course, Al Haymon babysits him like Berto that PUTO.
