It's funny to hear anyone say anything bad about broner yet five minutes later watch this sham of a fight canelo was in. This sport is boxing not ko'ing , and broner is a boxer. People act like these prospects are supposed to destroy everyone with a one round ko or they aren't crap. Broners comp this past saturday was way way tougher than canelos which people seemed to have no problem with. Not only did he fight a c level at best fighter, he didn't even make weight. Nor stop hatton who is garbage after hitting him with everything he had. Broner wasn't great but he's not supposed to be yet. Man shows what little people think of ponce, if they're saying the guy who beat him is whack.

When are these boxers going to learn that they'll never make the kind of money they want to make while being boring, no risk boxers. Outside of a few hardcore Black fans that are desperate for someone to root for, nobody will waste their Saturday to watch a boring, arrogant, delusional boxer dance around the ring and build up their undefeated record. Casual fans don't like it and most boxing fans don't like it.

Well, I was looking forward to a good fight..Broner had the qualifications/ability and physical size to take out ponce de leon, but to me he fought scared. I thought most of the rounds were up in the air, since ponce de leon wanted to engage while broner attempted to box..did not live up to the hype at all..dont see him lasting too long before someone picks him apart.

In regards to canelo, he is ok, but definitely nowhere near elite level and can be soundly beaten by a good aggressive boxer/puncher..but he is still young, so I will just wait and see..but right now he has not proven much.

say wat u want but him fighting ponce at such an early age was a big step up. do i think he won? no...but thats not because of anything ponce did. it was because he wasnt active enuff. but that young 21yo fought a tough step up fight and when u compare it with canelo's comp that nite...u get the point.

                  I agree.

I think it might be detrimental to our future viewing enjoyment if guys like Broner get decisions like that on the regular.

Imagine two Broner's fighting each other.

I don't think it is fair to say that Broner's competition was way better than Canelo's. At 122, I think that would be true. At that weight class, De Leon has world class power and that makes up for his glaring skills deficiency. He is slow as molasses and his jab is pawing. He's a limited fighter with great power at 122 and often, that is enough. At 130, he doesn't have power so he's a "B" level fighter.

Matthew Hatton had zero power at 154. Zero. He however had way better boxing skills than Ponce De Leon and was definitely game. He also appeared quicker than Canelo, which Ponce De Leon certainly was not.
