He is one of the biggest waste of talents in boxing along with Tyson & Calzaghe.
Floyd Mayweather at 34 is DONE in terms of greatness

He must be put in a seperate category than Figher. He is a great boxer, but not a great fighter.
To be considered a great fighter like Pep who was a great boxer as well, floyd would needed to have took risks when fighting and we know he rarely does that. Fighting JMM at 147 and hatton with home advantage is not the work of a great fighter.Last edited by hugh grant; 03-07-2011, 08:03 AM.Comment

Honestly, if this fight doesn't happen this year, the fight will be irrelevant. Both Mayweather and Pacquiao are not their best anymore already, and after this year the fight would not show who is better. It might not show that now, but it hasn't been that long since Mayweather fought and Pacquiao is still looking good.Comment

How can you say someone is past their prime or done when they 1. dominated the last time they fought and 2. you haven't seen them in a ring since. Truth be told you have no idea where he really is in either regard. You can truly only judge by their last performance and if that's too far gone then you're simply guessing.
Exactly. I remember a fair few people asking this question before the Hatton fight, due to Floyds inactivity. I'd suggest due to his lifestyle (keeping fit all the time) that his long spells of inativity probably help prolong his career, much like Klit done, he allows his body to recover fully which can only help.Comment

Floyd is done, past prime, and way too inactive. If Pac vs Floyd don't happen this year, I don't wanna see it anymore! Pac gets nothing from me if he beats an old, inactive Floyd and that says a lot! I'm a very big fan of his but he gets nothing if he fights Floyd a day after Dec 31,2011.

If and when they fight, this would NEVER HAPPEN, so there will be no need to say it in the first place. Let's just pretend that Pac agreed to FMJ terms like FMJ agreed to his, right?Comment

He's not a "what if" he's a HOF fighter but the problem is, we want to see him and Pac. It's his career defining fight and if he doesn't take it, then his legacy will be stained.
Pac doesn't need Floyd, it's the other way around. Floyd fought over the hill DLH and Mosley, those aren't defining wins.
He needs to fight the best and Pac is it right now. If he retires and never fights him, he will regret it every day of his life.Comment

Floyd can turn 40 tomorrow and still one whoop Pac's ass in a one sided beat down. This comes down to reckless vs. Technique. Technique always wins. This is as big a mismatch as Lewis vs. Tyson and it'll be the same outcome.Comment
