Well, that was the rumor alright.
But I thought that the writer did a great job of allaying that rumor.
It is what it is.
He is a bleached, then reddened, Andre Berto
Give the kid a break, he's still got some pimple problems to work out before he can fully dedicate himself to training. Most of that 1.8lbs was acne that sprung up overnight because he was nervous
Canelo needs time to develop, he is not ready for title fights, but we all knew that before Hatton. The time to scream about the undeserving world title was before the fight via e-mail to Sulaiman. You think Saul is undeserving, why was Hatton fighting for a title at 154?
He should dump that **** to give himself more options. I wish I knew the deal with his weight. If his management are correct, then he can make 147, but will only do so when absolutely necessary in order to preserve his career, hence his propensity for fights at 150. I believed it, now I'm not so sure.
Anyone got any inside info on that ?
Boxing is a learning curve, and the kid's got plenty of curve to go yet.
If Canelo can make 147, he should be looking at another 4-5 fights, against different styled opponents, of increasing ability. Working on his defence and movement, I want to see his skills developed further, and see him tested against bigger guys that he can't push around.
Then, depending on where he's at, look at going for someone like Senchenko or Berto.
What would happen if the current WBC JMW champ fought Berto now?
