The Tua fight was controversial. Just ask Fres, he'll tell you...

so mccline beats beats boswell and gets a title shot, fres loses to tua and gets one... meanhwile sanders beats wlad and williams beats tyson... sounds to me like they are all about as worthy of title shots as each other... which was my point, byrd and ruiz's opponents are just as criticizable as VK's...

...but VK's opponents seem tailor-made to suit his style.

At least Golota wasn't an ideal opponent for Ruiz...

Aside from that, the fact the WBC is making an all-african title makes me question that they will let Vitali face whoever...

Did I mention Mayweather will be fighting for the all-african wbc title in January?

        *Sighs*

Jabs-Why not? What had Sanders/Johnson/Williams have done? Atleast Ruiz would fight back and not choke up like the others, Ruiz would actually give Vitali a fight.

what's the deal with this "All-African" title?
        haven't heard much about it...

furthermore.......as vitali will definitely pick an easy opponent, i can even see him fighting valuev,,,,,,,as it would be an easy win, and at the same time it would be the clash of two soviet giants, which could draw some attention.

It is a title the WBC is pushing around and only African Americans can win it, It was supposed to be a title that would only be for people in africa but now it is if you are black you can win it, They are going to put it on Floyd to hope gain recognition and when the public caught wind of this they protested it and now they are coming out with latino titles and such.....

Why they are doing this is beyond me, They said it was supposed to be a title where a boxer can get a good start and recognition but I thought that was what the bull**** continental titles were supposed to be.

Just Ignore the whole fiasco if I was you.

Moochi-No, thats a horrible Idea 2 big guys dont mean **** in america when one isnt even known in the states it wouldnt draw 2 flies in an open barn covered in horse ****.

Vitali needs to fight a household american name.

also, if you want to criticize VK's opponents, let's look at ruiz and byrd:

golota - has never won a big fight... only had 2 fights in 4 years, but magically gets ranked to get a title shot at byrd

fres - has NEVER beaten another good fighter, but gets 2 title shots

mccline - WTF did he do to get a title shot after getting PUNKED by wlad??

....I couldn't agree with your comments more!! I would like to see him fight Rahman first because it has become fashionable for people to think that he can beat Vit. All of these Vit bashers are saying that Rahman can take him out. I wanna see that fight and see what they all say after the fact. Next I would like to see him fight Byrd and shut his and his fans mouths once and for all.

Rahman would probably give Vitali the most trouble out of all of the heavyweights today, that is IF he comes in focused and in shape.

Byrd I am huge on Byrd and would love to see him beat Vitali but I dont see it being much different than the first, Although you have to take into account Byrd took the fight on a weeks notice...So it is hard to tell, Byrd handles Big Guys pretty well down the stretch.

If Rahman came in the way he came in against Meehan or even in the 1st Lewis fight then I have no doubts Hasim would walk out champ that night, But out of all the heavyweights today Rahman would be the one to steal it....But it is a toss up with that damn man you never know how he is going to come in.

Id also like to add in Roy made this quote last Monday:

Tom Arnold:Who's best in that division right now?

Roy Jones: The best in that division right now...and I'm gonna surprise you when I tell you this...And I don't like to say it because I know he hates my guts, but it's the truth. The best heavyweight in the world right now - without me being a heavyweight - is James Toney.

That was on this weeks best damn sports show, Below is the whole transcript.

                    By Scoop Malinowski

Apparently two devastating knockout losses suffered in 2004 have not in the least affected the legendary Roy Jones facade of confidence. Read on for the latest of Jones' self-serving boxing comments made on Monday night on the Best Damn Sports Show Period!:

Tom Arnold: Do you still have the fastest hands in the world?

Roy Jones: I still got the fastest hands on the planet [sneering and smiling wickedly].

                    [Audience applauds]

John Salley: I got a question [Cutting off the applause]...From the last fight, don't you need a fast head to get [Salley doesn't finish question]...

                    [Audience in laughter]

Roy Jones: Well, you gotta have a quick head, but when they pay you that good, sometimes it don't really matter as long as you do what you gotta do.

Tom Arnold: I was thinking about this. I guess you had two bad fights. I guess everybody has a bad fight once in a while. You had two that you lost. What was the reason for that?

Roy Jones: You know, I don't have reasons. I don't make excuses [Antonio Tarver was probably smiling proudly if he was watching]. We go through things in life, you go through ups and downs. And a champion is measured by when he's down, not when he's up. I knew my time was coming one day. Just what's great for me was that I was able to rule the whole time when I was in my prime. And once I got above my prime, they got me two times [smiles]. Now they think it's over and out. But it's not. I'm always ready.

Tom Arnold:Antonio Tarver-Glen Johnson - those two guys that got lucky and beatcha - they're fighting this weekend. Is there any chance you can take on the winner?

Roy Jones: Well, you know with me, I'm the type of guy that whatever the public wants to see is what would happen. I hope both those guys have a good showing this weekend. I think Tarver's the better boxer. I think Glen Johnson's the bigger hustler. So if Glen hustles, he can beat Tarver. If he's best, Tarver's gonna beat him. However...a really, really focused Roy Jones...neither one of them don't have a chance.

Tom Arnold: You were up there at Vegas at that Klitschko deal. If you did fight again, would you fight at heavyweight?

Roy Jones: People ask me that. It's possible that I could go back to the heavyweight division. Just to win the title one more time.

Tom Arnold: That would be nice.

Roy Jones: It would be fun for me.

John Salley: Right now he weighs in at 240. If you go in at 215...

Roy Jones: If I go in at 200 I'll still beat him.

But, he certainly deserves the brutal beating he'd get.
LMAO Even though that was very amusing what you said and i do think he needs a beating for boring us to death. I do however think he deserves the opportunity. He has been the WBA Champ for awhile now and has beaten everyone in front of him except Roy of course. Besides if they fight Vitali will beat him and then we don't have to suffer Ruiz-Byrd in the future.
