You're right, "$70k isn't **** to Alvarez" especially because he is only getting half of it which is highway robbery. I wonder if Canelo doesn't make the 160 lbs weight today at 3PM if the CSAC get's half of whatever that fine is as well. I believe Canelo never figured to weigh 150 lbs and never tried to shed the extra 1.8 either. For this reason alone I want Hatton to win but man, every card is stacked against him now. By fight time, Canelo will weigh about 165 lbs (although I will bet he won't let HBO weigh him on their unofficial scales) and Hatton approx 152 lbs. and Hatton will be fighting a Super Middleweight by fight time. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if GBP doesn't kick down Canelo another $70k so he doesn't lose a dime...

So, this will be Canelo's one free pass. If he doesn't make weight again, he should get suspended. This has become a trend recently and fighters are just saying f**k it, I will pay the fine and be done. Where has all the professionalism gone?

Its definitely an advantage for Alvarez . I did find Oscar's take on weight hard to believe, But on the other hand Hatton agreed to the terms after Alvarez not making weight, Guess he thinks he can win and get thar extra $$$ .

Great point. I don't understand why the commission has to receive half of the penalty. Matthew is receiving money because he is being wronged/disadvantaged, as his opponent failed to make a contracted weight. How is the WBC being disadvantaged? What is the rationale of them receiving any of the penalty money?

So what canelo grew overnight is that why he could not make the weight? DLH sounds so ****** when he says " It's going to be a war" Another bullship promotion from DLH.

this is a title fight at 154. Alvarez should purposely come in over the 160lbs hattons cried over. have hatton drop out and fade away. Alvarez can fight a worth contender in a month. hatton has no business in type of title fight he is a joke.

Lets make it clear both of these fighters does not deserve to fight for the title, it is a joke. I hope a miracle happens and Hatton wins, then egg on De La Hoyas Face

I dont think it helps Alvarez very much that he has to still worry about his weight coming in under 160 at 3pm today.

Also if he is more then 160 what happens then? I doubt it would be because he a growing boy.
