I was intending to ask HOW COME no one is blaming Arum, and calling him a liar and much worse, as has become the common habit on these pages....when I came across your little negativity.

I suppose he is "spoiling" it because Arum is being truthful....as he often is.

C'mon man! Ya'll really think a Pac vs Mayweather fight is going to happen outside the US? Ya'll buggin if you think so. Those casinos make a f***ing killing anytime Floyd or Manny fight on top of both guys guys (or promoters) getting a share of the Casinos that weekend. It's a no brainer.

Also, when is Jeff Mayweather ever around Floyd or his people? He himself stated in an interview he doesn't talk to Floyd LIKE THAT. I think it's BS if you ask me.

If you think about it, the Mayweathers can just forget about this whole Pac thing and move on. Floyd could have fought Pac without so much fuzz if he really wanted to. End of story. So why now? It has to do with this:

"Let me tell you something man, everybody wants to see this Pacquiao fight. If that would have happened already, they would have Floyd in jail." -- Floyd Mayweather Sr., September 27, 2010

              http://www.fighthype.com/pages/content8491.html

Since Arum stopped initiating another negotiation, it appears that it is a two-phase plan for the Mayweather family: Circulate a rumor about a possible Pac fight without actually fighting. If that would seem not to work, Floyd would have to actually sign up for the fight.

Mind-boggling that they can't bring themselves into a direct formal negotiations even if it meant Floyd not going to jail.

Bob Arum stands to make more money with one fight between Pacquiao vs Mayweather than he did with all three of Manny's previous fights (Cotto, Clottey and Margarito). If you add up the numbers from those fights, you get 2.8 to 2.9 million PPVs buys. If you have Manny vs. Floyd Jr, you at least get approx 3.0 million PPVs and if it's close or controversial, you get the rematch for another 3.0 million PPVs. And if they just fight once, that is only one promotion to pay for, not three for the aforementioned fights mentioned above. Also, a Manny vs. Floyd Jr fight would essentially promote itself.

Bob Arum is alot of things (scumbag, sleezeball, etc.) but the guy is in the business to make money, which is the bottom line. I think he would much rather get the Mayweather fight done sooner than later because there is always a chance Manny could get cut, hurt or lose and then the big PPV goes right out the window. What happens if Manny gets headbutt in the third round against Mosley, the ref rules it a punch because he didn't see it and the fight get's stopped by the doctor in the fifth round. Manny loses and the money is GONE!

Knowing all that, I have to disagree with you here...
You are speculating on numbers, bro. This will be a co-promotion and based on what has been presented so far it's a 50-50 deal. Manny is at point where he can get close to a mil on ppv sales. Lets say arum can get another name from top rank and good promotional strategy he can make the same amount of money and more if he keeps finding a name from his stable with a moderate draw to add to manny's numbers; this is what he's been doing so far and this is what been killing the fight between Floyd, moreover, he's already stated that he won't make him the money ppl think. If Arum had taken the route ppl wanted him to take and lets say Floyd beats Manny, Manny wouldnt be where he is today and that mean a huge potential profit loss for Arum.

Or Bob is just reminded how he was so upset from the last negotiation that turned out no bearing at all because Floyd Jr appeared did not sanctioned this or he was represented without his knowledge, after showing he doesn't care about this at all. Now Bob learned from this and just cautious not to be screwed again! So I think we can not blame the old man of his reaction. And I believe him too that there is no negotiation at all right now because Floyd Jr is still scared to death to Pac!

Perhaps, arum doesn't want to give the mayweathers a chance in saying there was never a negotiation.
