thats not going to happen juy, not unless its a re-match from a close or controversial first fight and then one steps up to take a title, if cal can make weight against bums he'll make the weight against a decent fighter

One thing I will have to say is - "Good on Jeff Lacy!"

He's not f**kin' about chasing Kessler or Markus Beyer... He's going after the BULL of the division which is a good sign he means business in this game.

With so many belts these days it makes it easy for guys to pick and choose who they will fight and call themselves a World champion. (Just look at RJJ's career)...

Lacy is going after the linear champ, and Calzaghe is one tough motherf**ker too! Anyone who get's in the ring with Calzaghe is gonna get hurt whether they win or lose.

It's this "no nonsense" approach that Lacy is applying that is fast making me a fan!

Joe's not the linear champ, that title is vacant. But he is the longest-reigning super-middleweight champion and the super-middleweight with the best resume, so he's clearly the best in the division.

If Lacy refuses to show any interest in Calzaghe for early next year (like Gary Shaw says), then Joe could beat up Clinton Woods and then give Lacy a shot.

Not only is Calzaghe not the linear champ, he's NEVER held a major belt, so he's not even a top contender in essence, being that the WBO belt has little-to-no value.

if "best resume" = ducking every top opponent possible, then I guess that I personally have a "great resume" also

              hmm

Oh yeah!... LOL!... Reid didn't do ANY sparring before fighting Lacy, and his only training was a bit of shadow boxing next to the swimming pool... LOL!...

Reid can be a f**kin' idiot, and Brian Hughes should sacked! What kind of a trainer would let you get away with that preperation for a World title shot?
Excuses excuses. Funny how you can use em for your brit lovers and no one else can...

Also, Joe doesn't deseerve any kind of warm up fight, especially given his history of "injury", and also the fact that he had fought kinda recently ANYWAY (fighting Mario Veit, a guy he'd already KO'd in 1 ROUND).

Anyone who tries to say Joe's resume is better than Hopkins is quite clueless about boxing. Don't ever say something that ****** again, please, for the sake of your dignity. When did Hopkins ever fight a guy he'd already KO'd in 1 round?

Also, no way in hell is Jeff Lacy afraid of Calzaghe. Jeff has been fighting on Joe's undercards and flying to England just to make this happen. Everyone should know that Lcy wants this fight in a big way.

So, no, Lacy hasn't delayed any fight. That's just a biased British point of view. I could just as easily say Calzaghe delayed by having his accurately predicted injury and fighting a guy he should have never been fighting in the 1st place.

P.S. Hopkins was never a true light-heavyweight. Having your debut in a class you never belonged in does not make you a light-heavyweight.

Joe Calzaghe is the linear and universally recognized Super-middleweight champion of the World.

Forget about all the multiple governing bodies... Anyone who knows anything about boxing knows Calzaghe is the champ.

Same goes for Vitali Klitscho and Tarver - (despite Tarver only holding the IBO belt).

                    BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAH AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

There are four sanctioning bodies - WBC/WBA/IBF/WBO. I don't believe in alphabet crap, the fighter makes the belt not the other way round.

WBO is just as legit as WBC, WBA or IBF, you only have to ask the likes of Dariusz Michalczewski, Joe Calzaghe, Chris Eubank, Naseem Hamed, Marco Antonio Barrera, Jake Matala, Thomas Hearns, Nigel Benn, Gerald McClellan, Michael Moorer, Rid**** Bowe etc etc etc.
You are a World Champion if you hold a WBO belt, you are NOT a World Champion unless you hold a WBC, WBA, IBF or WBO belt.

You again... LOL!... You are fast becoming my boxingscene stalker... LOL!...

Something you never do is give examples to back up your opinions for exapmle you say: "Anyone who tries to say Joe's resume is better than Hopkins is quite clueless about boxing".

It's very difficult to have a discussion with you about boxing (and differ) when all you ever say is, "This is the way it is because I say it is and if you don't agree with me then you don't know nuthin!"

I'll give you some advice... Give examples and reasons behind your way of thought and you will find that more of the intelligent boxing fans will have a proper discussion with you, and hey... You will learn loads!

Oh, and the 2nd part of advice would be... It's OK to disagree with someone... Everyone's views will differ from time to time... I disagree with guys like Elveiel, J_!, Sactown, Anorak, Bombardier, and loads of others from time to time on different subjects but one thing I don't do is start name calling.

Stick to these two ways and you'll do just fine.
