Not true. If Mexicans can grab the other belts, I don't see why Europeans can't grab the other belts. The WBO is a joke in my opinion. Also Hamed was never that great. Barrera destroyed him. Eubank was good, but he wasn't the best. He ducked many guys & you know the guys that I'm talking about.Last edited by Parodius; 09-11-2005, 03:23 PM. -
oh, all the more reason to not talk about him.Originally posted by JUYJUYNo, Richie works for the BBC as a pundit and commentator.Comment

By the way, Bernard Hopkins making 20 defenses of his IBF belt is not a record.Originally posted by ParodiusNo true. And I would hardly say that Barrera "destroyed" Naseem Hamed... LOL!...Comment

It is the middleweight record by a mile. I know Joe Louis defended his belts for 25 times. Barrera made a fool out of Hamed. If Hamed was that great of a boxer, he would've beaten Barrera like Raheem did last night against Morales. I don't even think Raheem is that good.Originally posted by Martin.By the way, Bernard Hopkins making 20 defenses of his IBF belt is not a record.

yes, barerra destroyed hamed, seeing as how hamed never controlled the fight, and hardly had barerra in trouble and did nothing but eat punches all night.Comment

Barrera won the fight fair and square, but he didn't "destroy" Hamed.Originally posted by TheEvilSaintyes, it is a record for the middleweight division.

Judge: Chuck Giampa 116-111 | Judge: Patricia Jarman 115-112 | Judge: Duane Ford 115-112
Does this look like a scorecard where a fighter was destroyed???
If I was using the word "destroyed" I would say David Tua DESTROYED John Ruiz.
I wouldn't say that Barrera destroyed Hamed at all, he just beat him, that's all.Comment

ok, how about "barerra disected hamed"?Originally posted by Martin.Barrera won the fight fair and square, but he didn't "destroy" Hamed.

Barrera hurt Hamed with every punch. He completely dominated that fight, I don't care about the scorecard from the judges. It was like a man fighting a boy. That's how I saw the fight.Originally posted by Martin.Barrera won the fight fair and square, but he didn't "destroy" Hamed.
