Donaire has never been the real/lineal/ring champ...

In every division he has been a paper champ.

i was gonna say the same thing pavlik was the real champ and darchinyan only became a linear champ after donaire beat him i think you have to look at what they did to the fighter at the time they beat him.

i never said he was...but might as well consider him that since he beat the best of those divisions ...not to mention both my stoppage...there was no argument that vic was th best at that time same with montiel when nonito fought them..to be fair, if nonito was a paper chmpion in two divions then sergio is a paper champion at mw , and a half ass paper champion at jmw....consider also, nontio was an interim champion aswell at 115 like sergio was at 154...so nontio is still one paper champion better than sergio ...lol

but doesn't that tell you the kind of caliber the fighter you've defeated?

Vic went on to unify the 115 belt, 1st in boxing history

what has Pavlik done after he lost to Martinez?

No, of course you can not consider him that...Fact is if you not the real/lineal/ring champ you can NOT be considered as if....

Of course there is an argument.

Fact is Nonito has never been a lineal/ring/real champ...Martinez has. Donaire has only been paper champ....

And, "Nonito was an interim champion as well at 115" only means that Nonito was the #1 contender and that is it...Donaire is only a 2 division title holder not 3.

Both have been unified champs in 2 division. Both have been 2 division title holders. the only difference is that one has been the real/lineal/ring champion. And, that one person is not Donaire.

Resume/accomplishments is pretty even... You can't go wrong with either choice period.

Raul Martinez is not a bad win either.

if were going to count those guys for Donaire, then we should also count Bunema for Martinez.

the main issue I have is that Donaire is not necessarily the best in his division. ok, I think he is, but it is not set in stone.

If Donaire can beat Moreno, then he might pass Martinez on my list.
