One of the worst ref ever is LAURENCE COLE. Cortez is not bad.

Oh hell yes. He is often paid off in my opinion. He keeps the tradition of Richard Steele alive and well. With that sneaky ass look on his face.

he does fightts in nyc. he did the cotto fight with foreman. with clottey. i think he did the tito-joppy back in '01.

Aight the guy from the Cotto fight. He did pretty good to clear that ring. Im sure he has big time haters too because he did slightly encourage Foreman to keep fighting. I wonder which of the BS lunatics is gonna attack him since his name was brought up.

The recent hate comes from his lack of consistency. Many believe he's a firm player of favorites. Check it out:

Hatton-Mayweather: Cortez constantly breaks them up any chance he gets, killing Hattons only shot at getting any work done via inside fighting. (Favors the American)

Did his actions change the possible outcomes? That's for you to decide. But the evidence of him playing favorites is clearly there in my opinion.

this is a funny conspiracy theory but untrue. Hopkins hates Cortez and actually protested him a couple of times, including the Calzaghe fight. Hopkins had the belief that because Cortez is Puerto Rican, and because Hopkins KO'd their God, Cortez would unfairly hold it against him. So bhop always protested Cortez when he was announced a ref to one of his fights.

Cortez broke hopkins and calzaghe every time they clinched. Cortez doesn't like clinching AT ALL. This is true for all of his fights. Hopkins and Calzaghe just did so much more of it then anyone else in recent memory that some of it slid, but not for long at all before Cortez would rush and break it up. Hopkins was actually upset with Cortez for not allowing him to be able to work more on the inside against Calzaghe. Same with Hatton fans and Maidana etc. It's how Cortez has always reffed, as soon as arms get tangled he breaks.

And he sucks, I hate him. Although I thought he did a pretty good job with Rios-Acosta.
