    Crazy thread.

When have so many of the top fighters in one of the sport's best divisions faced each other as regularly as they have in the Super Six? Not since the 1980s. To call that a joke is a joke.

super 6 still means something, but the tournament winner will have to fight bute to be undisputed.

What kind of meaning you were trying to get from Super Six? If you say the best at 168, then the winner will be still best at 168. Super Six giving us great matchups, we wouldn't get them without it.

The winner should be ranked #1 because of having had better competition than Bute, but they won't be able to call themselves the best until they've fought the best, and Bute will be ranked #2, and is arguably the most talented in the fighter in the division, so they'll have to beat Bute before they can be called the best.

And the fact is that Showtime chose not to include Bute. That decision has nothing to do with whether Bute or Ward is better (assuming Ward wins the tournament). That question can only be settled in the ring. For you to pretend otherwise is just playing fantasy games.

Honestly, I'm sick of people trying to shit on the super six. It has been great and will continue to. Look at who has fought so far. Would you have seen all these fights without the super six? Fuck no.

The two most important people are left in it anyways. Froch and Ward. Although it would be 100% legit if Dirrell was in it still in place of Johnson or AA.

Those 3 are the top guys at 168 IMO, and Bute. I still think Dirrell is the best. If only he can use his ability to the fullest. I don't care what anyone says, he beat Froch and AA. Not to mention those were huge step ups.

The Super Six is still something special...every guy in it has had tougher fights than if they weren't involved in it.Let's face it,if Abraham or Kessler never joined the Super Six,they would be fighting over-matched scrubs fed by their promoters and would have been content.

All of these guys deserve props for breaking away from their comfort zones (whether it is substandard opponents, etc) and fighting one another. How often do the best fight the best in this day and age? Even the p4p "best" doesn't try to do this as it is too much risk!

lol@Bute being the best when he hasn't tested himself against the best( or even close to the best).Hell,he is a one armed fighter...Ward will outclass him,and I wouldn't be surprised to see Kessler and Froch take him into the late rounds and smoke his azz!

I kinda get what he's saying. I myself have gotten bored with it. Its been some ragedy fights but sometimes enttertaining. Mostly its been poorly marketed considering how long the process has been. If youre not a hard core fan then you have no idea who these guys are. Too many drop outs so its been watered down. What really keeps me watching is the match we've all been waiting for which is Ward/Froch. If somehow that fight doesnt happen then its a little disappointing just to me. Dont get me wrong I'll watch no matter who the finalists are. All in all it wasnt really a mainstream success. I definitely want the winner to spank Bute.

                      lets be real now.

Thanks to some injuries and other BS, we missed out on some good potiental fights.

Abraham who was expected togo far, didn't. Froch who was expected to go nowhere is actually somewhere though im feeling like it's ending soon. Dirrell was exposed as a *****. No doubt about that one. And Kessler beating Froch then having a injury. Ruined everything. **** even Taylor getting KO'd was sour for the Super 6. He really deserved to be there and i thought he was going to be in the semis at least. Crazy how things change.

but we missed on great fights.

                      Dirrell-Kessler, Dirrell-Taylor, Taylor-Ward, etc.

^ Those fights would have made the Super 6 ALOT more meaningful and at the end of the day crown a legit SMW champ who beat very good fighters to become one.

Beating replacements who are less to par in Danny Green, Johnson means **** TBH
