calzaghe was an absolute nobody in terms of worldwide boxing appeal. he was a euro champ who was fighting nothing but bums. nobody took him seriously. he was the sebastian sylvester of the 90s and early 2000's.

calzaghe and jones weren't even in the same division. it's easy to call someone out when they aren't even in your division and you know the fight will never be made. it's a way to get more publicity for yourself.

it's akin to sebastian sylvester calling out andre ward or carl froch. if they didn't fight him are they ducking sebastian sylvester? stop trying to revise history with your inaccurate rhetoric.

your problem is you think jones vs calzaghe at the time would have been some major fight when it wouldn't have been. yes it would have been better then some of roy jones fights but no one fights tough fights every time out. it's the way the boxing business is setup. you should know this being a calzaghe fan because calzaghe took more easier fights than anyone except maybe sven ottke.
