Okay can someone tell me exactly when Roy was in his prime?

      It sure wasn't Calzaghe.

I'd say from 94-2000. I thought he was at his peak around 1997.

I dont think he avoided Calzaghe or that Calzaghe avoided him. Just wasnt viable. Jones did talk about moving down to 168 but he chose HW instead - understandable.

But its just really funny to hear people say "Calzaghe was nobody" and then have a glance at Roy's resume at the time.

          You get me?

            thanks for answering that.

A lot of people seem unsure.

Anyway I'm not going into discussion but I seriously think Hopkins, Jones Jr and Calzaghe didn't want anything to do with each other. All 3 fighters had far greater success fighting others. All 3 stacked up the cash and stacked up the wins without facing each other.

No, I don't. Because his resume at the time consisted of wins over Hill, Toney, Griffin, Hopkins, etc. His resume at the time was good enough to be rank him #1-3 at the time. Where was Joe ranked? Who had he beaten? At the time, compared to Roy Jones, he certainly was a nobody.

Bernard and Roy fought in 1994 (correct me if that year is wrong???)

Calzaghe wasn't anyone to think about back then, and he wasn't scaring those guys with his uneven, inconsistent performances. Who was Joe beating back at the turn of the century? Richie Woodhall? The guy who moved up to 168 after he couldn't hack it at 160? The guy who got stopped by Keith Holmes? Come on.
