How devistating is a shot to the temple?

If it is a focused blow on the temple and the rest of the skull can not help to absorb the impact it is the worst place to get hit.

Generally speaking with a boxing glove on it is almost impossible to hit the temple that directly and will always catch another part of the skull but it can still mess up a person pretty bad.

Still though it ain't like the chin because then you are talking about leverage on the brain as opposed to direct impact.

Not true, a punch behind the head is the most devastating.

It goes like this, when a fetus is growing the skull grows in two halves until everything meets up at the back of the head. The skulls joining make a sharp ridge in the back of your head.
