I think people that are trying to claim him as American, are going off the fact that most of his life was spent in America. I don't consider him an American fighter but in all reality Nonito probably doesn't know much about being Filipino. Sure, he probably grew up with things that his parents brought over and things his parent taught him but from age 10 and up he knows nothing but American culture. Nonito probably considers a good hearty meal is with red meat instead of rice.
He's Filipino but lets not diminish the fact that he is American as well. Clottey on the other hand is a disgrace. We would never accept him.
