Boxing wise he isn't American but I bet you Donaire considers himself American. Lets be honest, at his age you don't remember much about when you were 8 years old. All he knows is American culture and I'm sure he is proud to be an American. I'm sure Nonito has no intentions of leaving our great nation any time soon. I think he is great for both nations tbh. The British wish they had a fighter as talented as Nonito.Comment

They have Matthew Hatton, a man so white his opponents are blinded by the sheen that reflects off his skin.Boxing wise he isn't American but I bet you Donaire considers himself American. Americans, you still have Floyd Mayweather and Tim Bradley. Nonito's only half yours, but I'm pretty sure he enjoys repping the Philippine flag more.
<---Filipino-American.

I think people that are trying to claim him as American, are going off the fact that most of his life was spent in America. I don't consider him an American fighter but in all reality Nonito probably doesn't know much about being Filipino. Sure, he probably grew up with things that his parents brought over and things his parent taught him but from age 10 and up he knows nothing but American culture. Nonito probably considers a good hearty meal is with red meat instead of rice.
He's Filipino but lets not diminish the fact that he is American as well. Clottey on the other hand is a disgrace. We would never accept him.
