Donaire built his career in America and had only 2-3 fights in the Philippines. Manny started his in the streets of Manila. Nonito will never get the same admiration from the general Filipino population, but he deserves all the respect. He needs to get more Fil-Ams on his side.

i made this thread for ppl like lostranger(scroll up).
for those who claimed that pinoys are gone after pac retires because they have no one else.
and i say donaire is their next guy so they're staying longer than haters care to accept.
he's pinoy so it's understandable.
to me, hes just very very different from pac. im sure he'll have some diehard pinoy fans like pac, but itll be different for this guy.

he IS their next guy.
and when i say their next guy i mean he's gonna be the one carrying the torch when pac leaves the sport.

honestly, i hate *******s. but i enjoy more nationalities in boxing, it sometimes makes a fight more interesting when they have countries or race behind them...but like how mexicans are doing right now, all the big names or older dudes are headed downhill, there's a bright future in prospects right now...same for filipinos i would say, nonito and manny are not too far in age from each other, so they both won't be around for years to come, but there's more filipino fighters i hear about now adays compared to a couple years back....just seen this kid yesterday for the first time, seems pretty decent, he was like a pitbull in his last fight.

pac is 4-5 years older than nonita.
he also started boxing 6-7 years before nonita and has double the fights.
not to mention pac started fighting better and harder competition years before nonita.
4-5 years is half most boxer's careers , you tit.

he'll never be as great as pacquiao.
that filipino or filipino-american bull**** is meaningless though.
it's not as bad as how mexicans seem to feel about mexican-americans.
filipinos won't hold anything against donaire because of where he grew up.
he's of filipino descent and he was born in philippines. where he grew up doesn't mean much.

4-5 yrs is nothing.
when pac is 85, donaire will be 80.
they're basically the same age.
