    Some great fights this eve.

The glass is half full for sure.
Agreed, I think some people are just spoiled by the fact the last few years have had a lot of great boxing all year round, this year things are slowing down a bit.

I for one still enjoy a good boxing match, and regardless of how you feel about the skill and will needed by MMA fights, for me it's just not fun to watch 2 guys on the ground huging for 3 minutes. Honestly the best MMA fights i have seen have been stand up fights, & i can get that from boxing without a split second stoppage to end the fight early.

In all honesty, boxing has turned into a male soap opera! More bickering and arguing than actual fighting. Its pathetic! This has to be the most frustrating sport to be a fan of. The most anticipated fights take months and sometimes years to happen.

Say what you want about MMA and thier fans. Those are some happy ass fans! They get the fights that are suppose to happen and actually want to see! B.S fights aren't shoved down thier throats like in boxing.

Compared to Jon Jones he's also doing bad. Jones did all that in less than 3 years time. In 6 weeks if he wins vs Shogun he will be considered the best in the world, PERIOD. Bradley could have done all that but there are 3 or more other champions who can claim they are the best and Bradley has to fight them too. When they all fall and by chance Bradley is still on top of his game he will be nearly 40. That's the difference. We don't ever get closure, EVER. I'm sick of it and i was done with my rant don't make me start over.

I've been looking for the boxing PPV numbers. From the informations I got 2005, 2006, 2007 has a huge jump in number of PPV fights.

            2007
Oscar De La Hoya-Floyd Mayweather: 2.4 mil

            Marco Antonio Barrera-Mzonke Fana: 75 000

Today we don't have so many PPV fights. Then again if you look back to the 90-s you see the same situation as today, not so many PPV fights

            1999
Oscar De La Hoya-Felix Trinidad: 1.4 mil
            Evander Holyfield-Lennox Lewis I: 1.2 mi
            Mike Tyson-Frans Botha: 700 000l
            Oscar De La Hoya-Ike Quartey: 570 000

Oscar De La Hoya-Julio Cesar Chavez II: 525 000

            1997

Mike Tyson-Evander Holyfield II: 1.99 mil
Mike Tyson-Frank Bruno II: 1.37 mil
            Oscar De La Hoya-Pernell Whitaker: 720 000
            Oscar De La Hoya-Hector Camacho: 560 000
Oscar De La Hoya-Miguel Angel Gonzales: 345 000
            Oscar De La Hoya-Wilfredo Rivera: 240 000

            1996
            Mike Tyson-Evander Holyfield I: 1.59 mil
            Mike Tyson-Bruce Selden: 1.01 mil

Boxing fans became too critical to fighters. Previously guys like Hopkins, Roy Jones fought only bum after bum and nobody would complain. But now they try to criticize even 24-year old Khan's opponents.

Boxing is very difficult sport and has many good fighters. You can't just come over and in 2-3 years beat up every guy. Of course in MMA where most of the fighters are not legit, even wrestlers from WWE can beat all MMA fighters and become champion, but in boxing you have to spend many years and training to reach the top.

Yes that's one of the main problems with the sport. In MMA the fans say "what if they fight?" Dana White says "Done, in 6 weeks". Boom we get what we want to see. Even if they could milk the fighters further THEY CHOOSE NOT TO.

In MMA every thing is about winning title and defending it. But boxing is not about titles, he doesn't have to fight all other champions. Does Manny Pacquiao have to fight Zaveck and Senchenko to prove he is the best? Maybe you don't know, but in boxing world he doesn't have to beat them.

It's not about that. If it was Floyd Mayweather wouldn't be a champion at 23 or Manny a champion by age 16?! (was he?) It's just a couple examples... Nothing justifies people waiting till their early 30's to take chances! And MMA has evolved a ton lot! The only older fighter still doing well is Anderson Silva because he's not human lol. Everyone from the old era (when people didn't know what they were doing) is losing badly and they aren't even that old! In 5 years the sport evolved a million years! The main difference is people like GSP, they train EVERY SINGLE DAY. He tries to improve as a mixed martial artist every day, whereas most boxers take entire months off of training between fights.

I have nothing against MMA. Absolutely nothing. Boxing just frustrates the hell out of me because you don't get to see it too often. Takes weeks, months even years just to see minor stars get in the ring. You may never even see the ones you want to see fight each other. It then becomes just fantasy fights. It's terrible.

I don't buy the **** connotation in MMA fights. You're probably a **** if you even think that way.
