    I'll give Byrd credit in his prime for being elusive, sure, but he could do that to anyone. But he was way behind on the scorecards, so not that elusive.

    While Wlad was not. Wlad would have also adapted better to Lennox. But that's offtopic.

    The same happened with Cassius Clay and Sonny Liston. Liston in my view won every round before he chose to retire on his chair due to Ali's escapology.
    Liston retired because he owed the mob a lot of money and he was an unpopular champ: the mob wanted Clay in because he appealed to white people with his clowning. Liston scared whites.

    Good book to read is The Devil and Sonny Liston by Nick Tosches.
