I said in my first post, if it was any other superstar fighter in history Manny can get compared to just fine. Ali is just entirely different not just for boxing but all of sport because I can't think of a single athlete exactly like him.
      Lets be real about it.

Ali dodged because he was scared of bullets just like everyone else.

He didn't have an issue with the VC, I don't really question if he believed in his stance.

Even if he went to the army he would have only seen bullets on the firing range.

He would get the Joe Louis treatment.

Still he was majorly known outside of sport for not only that stance but other political reasons.

Why Ali was bigger had nothing to do with the sport that is why he was way bigger he had the sport side but the other side was bigger.

Manny being a politician doesn't make him more well known for that specific reason.

I am perfectly calm, but get off my **** you should not be that concerned
            about what I say.
Ali may have been bigger in the US, but his political impact was purely limited to the US. In the same manner, Pac's political impact is bigger for his own countrymen compared to Ali's simply because they are the ones directly influenced by it. In that sense, Iole is right that both have significant political impact in their respective areas of influence.

No one is saying that Pac's political impact is the same as Ali's in the US. D'uh!

He isn't known in the Philippines because of his politics, he is known because he is a fighter point blank.

Ali was as known as much for his fighting as for his politics.

                ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ this!
finally! somebody got the courage to say it right. no matter how ali's apologist twist and tweaks facts it is always the truth, ali was scared of bullets, doesnt want to have anything to do with shooting and being shot at. not because of political beliefs but only because of self preservation. if everyone had the same attitude as ali's the Third Reich would have been the masters of the world. and ali would of no chance to birth simply because he aint got no quarrel against the fuhrer.

at this point in time, it isn't appropriate to compare the two since ali is already retired and we still don't know where the Pacman's road will lead to.

For example, at this time Pac is still a congressman. But would he remain so? Will he go for a higher office eventually? And he's been accomplishing a lot for Sarangani and we don't know what else is in store for him.

That is true Manny could bolster his non boxing profile a great deal and become a lot more.

He hopefully has a lot of life left to do a lot of good.
