Remember, Floyd tried having that guy killed, a couple of times, still walking around. Come on now.

It's absolutely about the money. Think of all that money generated at the hotels, casinos, restaurants, etc when Floyd fights. That's what the courts think about. I hope she takes Roger for every last dime the bum has.
christopher columbus got away with murder and he has a holiday....

      many people hate the Mayweathers

98% of those people are Pacquiao fans.

no one else really gives a damn about domestic disputes

being that they are very common and always have been

Pacquiao fans look at the Mayweathers like rapists and murderers

a real deep hate and resentment for them.

Thing is about civil court is that it doesnt have to be proven beyond a reasonable doubt like in criminal court

For example OJ was innocent in criminal court but guilty in civil court, where he had to pay like 23 mil
This is correct. It's easier to prove a case in civil court because evidence that is ruled "inadmissable" by law in a criminal court (because of the 'he said, she said', etc.) is completely admissable in a civil case. In criminal court it is so much harder to prove a case (especially domestic cases, which are the most difficult case to prove because you can't use heresay) so unless a person is actually giving testimony to exactly what they themselves had seen, he/she cannot state it in court. Anything else would be ruled 'Heresay' and would not be allowed. In such a case like this, where the police officers were witness to some sort of 'incident', the law would force them to arrest the aggresor, but because those cases are so hard to prove, they have a much more difficult time taking it to trial - they almost always get plead out. I doubt Melissa had any choice really than to "agree" with the D.A.s decision, and is consolling herself with the possibility of some monetary gain in Civil court, as well as being able to present her side of the story.

OJ Simpson was a PRIME example of how much easier it was to prove someone guilty in Civil Court, then it is to PROVE guilt in Criminal Court. The suspect cannot go to jail because of it, but the "victim" can try to make them "pay" by going after their money. The laws are different in the two indiviual Courts. So much evidence is not allowed in a criminal case, (i.e. they can have FULL confessions thrown out and crucial witnesses deemed unable or unwilling to testify as set by the laws), whereas in Civil court, all that is allowed. A person can plead the 5th (be unwilling to testify) in Criminal Court so as not to incriminate themselves, but they can't use it in a Civil case because it doesn't apply to the Civil law. It's a slippery slope, I don't believe that the Goldman's were really after OJ Simpsons money persay, (as what Civil Court indicates) but in taking it to the Civil Court, they were able to get all the facts and evidence out there in order to prove to the people that he really was guilty. They knew they wouldn't get much from him monetarily in the end, but they also didn't want him to EVER make money again without having to pay for "It". I believe the Civil case was the primary reason (most) people truly believed OJ was guilty (some were unsure after the Criminal trial), because in the Criminal case they ruled so many key points of evidence inadmissable/heresay which all came out in the Civil Court case.

Domestic Abuse cases are one of the hardest to prove in a court of (criminal) law, and that's why a very high percentage of those cases will almost always be plead out.

It looks like St. Vil is more interested in getting money from Roger in a civil suit than she is in putting him in jail with the criminal case.
