Well at least he's still healthy and not too old so he can at least fight for the next couple of years. Who knows, he might very well get a title shot judging by the current state of the heavyweight division and lack of competition.

Seriously, guys like Harrison, Briggs, and Rahman can get title shots, I'm sure Tua isn't too far behind them.

If he had just beaten Barrett, I think Wlad would've picked him over Chisora last December.

Whoa I need my eyes tested. For a moment there I thought that read, "I hope everything will be fine from heroin!"

Yeah, I also wish Tua the best. Whilst I find it hard to sympathise with self-inflicted problems, it's clear that Tua's been massively taken advantage of and, whether through naïveté, poor deicison making, or a general weakness of character finds himself in the situation he's now in. It's a sad story but, alas, not really a very surprising one.

Oh God no! I currently loathe David Haye with every fibre of my being, but I'd have to grow a few billion more if that fight ever got signed.

he has had issues with a couple of former managers & 3 fights in a row he hasnt got paid...i believe he earned $500000 each fight....sounds like he tried to invest his money but his ventures went south with the economy.he bought properties & when the economy crashed a few years back australia\neww zealand was hit harder then most developed countries...too bad

I feel for him, Boxer2k5 great post.

Tuas name will still carry some weight with the general boxing fan base. He could get matched up with some up and comer and make a few bucks to atleast get him and his families living situation stabilized. Now, if he shows up for one of these fights ready and knocks a few heads around he could be right back in the picture for some really good cash. If motivation had ever been a problem for David in the past it will not be anymore. He will be fighting for his life this time around.

Hey David, when things get bad and you feel that you are at the bottom of the pit there is no better time to pull it all back together to pull yourself back up. I wish him luck and am interested to see his first fight back. I wish you all the luck man.....Rockin'

Why? If you want the best for David Tua then you would want Haye to give him the fight. I hate Haye as much as anybody, but he'll be doing Tua a favor by giving him the fight. Tua can earn alot of money... Would you rather see Tua continuing to be broke and homeless or see him get the fight with Haye and pay off his debts?

If you want the best for Tua you don't put him in with a fast power-punching fighter like Haye who'd most likely be the first person to stop him in his career. Also Tua isn't the most well-known fighter in Britain and would most likely get the very short end of the stick regarding purse splits (a slave contract if you will) meaning I highly doubt he gets enough for his chronic brain-battering to get him out of the gutter.

Damn man another broke ass fighter.....

Do guys in this kinda earning brackett from other sports end up broke most of the time or is it just boxers!?

Managers should be helping their young fighters understand all about taxes and *****, helping them to secure their money for the future

Still its hard to feel sorry for these guys like Tyson and Tua when im sitting in my block of flats with junkies next door and im only making about £1400 a month
