You want what he's got? You gotta go and get it from him. Don't want to deal with it? Then forget his title.
He should have been fighting Kessler in Denmark, since Mikkel was the champion.

Ward's ref Jack Reiss kept admonishing Kessler for nothing during the fight, and Ward was permitted to hit off the break, deliberately headbutt and hit while holding. This confused Kessler and threw him off his game.

Mikkel has serious cuts over both eyes from Ward's butts. The crooked referee smirked when Ward landed the last butt, seeing Mikkel was badly hurt. If it had been an honest referee in there, Ward would have lost by disqualification.

Those headbutts no doubt contributed to Kessler's current injury and layoff because of the eye problem. Mikkel had been blinking for several rounds after a previous nasty Andre Ward headbutt to the other eye.

I voted no, not because it's not fair, though it clearly isn't. But becuase it's a b*tch move on Wards part. People want to see how good these young guys like Ward and Direll really are and they find ways to avoid the challenge.

Yeah, that fight was a joke. The ref in that one should have been barred for life....he was reffing a FNF fight the other night unfortunately but no craziness went down.

I mean Ward is getting this wild favoritism for some reason like he is a prodigy, hometown fights, hometown refs. I think he should have to fight outside of his hometown/state just like all the other fighters have had to.

Skillwise, I think Bute is more talented than Ward is. Ward wins his fights by using illegal tactics (I can't say too much about headbutting because I know I'll catch it because of Bradley's headbutts) punching while grabbing the other guy and wrestling the guy to the ropes and using his head as a wedge to keep the guy pinned there while rabbit punching them to death.

There should be a neutral venue for the fight if he and Bute were to fight, not in Quebec and not in Cali anywhere.

Don't worry, World Warrior Froch will take his head off, live in Oakland.

Those are just the advantages you develop as a crafty fighter. For example, Arthur Abraham pretends like he's been hit with a low blow every time someone lands a body punch on him. Floyd Mayweather pushes away with his elbow. Tyson used to strike with his forearm. Wladimir continuously measures with the jab. Ricky Hatton never met a clinch he didn't want to dive into. None of those things are actually legal, but it didn't stop some of those guys from building careers on the advantages the refs give them. I don't think it's cheating, it's just finding out what you can get away with.

Jesus Christ man, can people get off Ward's back? He was the better fighter than Kessler that night, plain and simple.

Exactly. People don't want to point out illegal things their favorite fighters do. Just the ones they don't like.

Ward needs to fight in Oakland at some point otherwise if he does go on to win the Super Six then he will be discredited for having a perminent home town advantage.

Funny that you of all people complain about "hit and hold" tactics from Ward, yet sport an image of Wladimir Klitschko on your sig...the very guy who has made a career out of that!!!!

Froch was doing the same tactics-hitting ON the break all night...where was your complaints?

There was no way Kessler would ever beat Ward-the inexperienced guy (Ward) outclassed him-simple as that. Some people can accept it,while others like yourself wallow in frustration.

                      Bradley's headbutt's are worse.
