Im a big fan of Ward and even i think he should have to travel in this tournament but i still think he has the skills to beat anyone in the tournament no matter where its at!!!

Kessler was one of the three guys i thought could give andre big problems but he handled him very well, AA was another and will be very tough to beat also now he has been upset by froch but andre should be to good for him and the other one isnt in it anymore!!!

he should be careful about fouling abraham, that blow while dirrell was on the ground i feel was a little revenge for the lowblow and not giving him time to rest

Great revenge he got there. Basically ruined his entire career.

Great point! When this tourney was announced, everyone thought the Euros were going to steamroll the American side. Hell, I even thought the Euros were going to steamroll the American side. Before the tourney started they said Dirrell was green and always brought up his stinker vs. Stevens and they said Ward was green and hadn't looked impressive so far as a pro. How many will admit that they had that opinion now?

In fact, where was all this "hometown advantage" sentiment when Abraham was defending his belt in Europe,as Kessler and the likes of Sebastian Sylvester, Robert Stieglitz, etc are as well.I guess it is only a problem when an American does it,eh? Let's not even forget how many times Calzaghe defended the belts in Europe and in his very own backyard ( while those refs would score TKO's against Joe's unharmed opponents!!!) or Sven Ottke or even how Bute is currently doing so against over-matched bums...The thing is,from the very start of the tournament, everyone knew Ward was scheduled to have 3 hometown fights. Not one fan ( nor the other tournament fighters) had a major protest until he was outclassing his opponents!
Another great point. Americans are obviously held to higher standards than the Euro trash. Andre Ward is known as a hometown fighter after making 2 defenses of his title. Lucien Bute has made all of his 6 defenses in Quebec, CA with a 7th scheduled there as well. Not a word.[/quote]

Of course he should - he's the world champion of Oakland. He has to defend his Oakland world championship. In Oakland.

I'd like to see Ward fight a world-class opponent with a fair referee who stops him from fouling.

Never mind the past, this is a tournament and it's the #1 seed v. the #4 seed. 1 is at home.

Oakland and Carson are twice as far apart as London and Liverpool. Its over 100 miles further than New York to Boston and 90 miles further than Berlin to Bonn. Now I don't know about Europe, but a kid from NY isn't fighting in his backyard when in Boston. So what's the cut. Cali?, Western USA?, USA?, North America? The western hemisphere? or will you only be satisfied with the unscrupulous judging coming out of Europe?

Ward and froch should basically host the semifinals and the final should be in Vegas. Maybe AC if that mega casino/ hotel gets done.

Should Abraham need to fight Ward in Oakland?

Should Froch or Johnson need to fight the final in Oakland, where home referees like Jack Reiss will permit Ward to foul (headbutt and hit while holding)?

Ward drew a small crowd for his last fight in Oakland. Abraham would draw far more people in Germany, and Froch would fill an arena in Nottingham.
No, he should not have ANYMORE fights at home.....ever. The dude gets catered to like no one I have ever seen. Definitely not fair but he and his team know that he would lose outside of Cali. Bute is gonna destroy him, which is why he was left out of the tourney in the first place.

He won the title by dominant decision over the reigning champion and Super 6 favorite.

You want what he's got? You gotta go and get it from him. Don't want to deal with it? Then forget his title.
