I think the TS is preparing to make a case for Calzaghe as the GOAT.

hopkins relied on beating up on smaller men...not the biggest jones fan, but you gotta respect how he took a bigger man who came to fight, and dismantle him within 12 rounds...and stopped him...when's the last time hopkins did that?...oh yeah against oscar de la doughboy...

Roy should've just stopped after his big heavyweight win and gone out like Lennox Lewis. On top. He'd be among the top five best fighters in the world today if he hadn't listened to his ego.

Soon after beating Ruiz, he felt invincible and should've let his body rest longer and given it time to acclimate to light heavy weight again. Yeah, they would've naturally said he was ducking Tarver, but he should've been smarter and waited a few more months before getting in the ring again. He could've come back, beaten Tarver, and retired.

            Could'a, would'a, should'a. Too late anyways.

He was definitely the man when he was on top.

Roy Jones jr was overrated. He spent his career beating up tomato cans.

watch this fight, especially round 2 to see how much RJJ relies on his reflexes, speed and power. Roy was missing punches and even this bum was able to counter him few times. Jones landed very quick left hook and kayoed him, but Roy didn't show any smartness.

I love roy as much as the next guy, but he is not as technically skilled as May or Pac. I think his more naturally athletic then both.

Roy Jones wasn't a skillful fighter? That's just crazy. In fact, that sentence right there is a candidate for some year-end NSB award. Jones didn't rely on athleticism and reflexes no more than Ray Robinson did. Or else we could throw a whole bunch of speedy fighters in that category, from Meldrick Taylor to Yuriorkis Gamboa. But they were nowhere near as good, why? Well, how many fighters today do you think knew more about the game than Roy? He began boxing when he was four. He was a champion and dominant every level, from the amateurs, to the Olympics and to the pros. His style was unorthodox, yes, but he threw beautiful, textbook punches as well as invented a few. He was unhittable in his prime, on or off the ropes, moreso than even Floyd. Threw great body shots, great footwork, etc. His flaw, if you can call it that, was an under-used jab that was about average, but generally effective when used. Roy Jones without skills and ring smarts would've been Howard Davis.

No doubt. It's usually the worst losses that stand out the most.

Beating Calzhage by KO would've very likely been his redeeming moment. Then he could've left the sport satisfied.
