That happened when Manny was still learning with the 2nd loss coming when he was only 19 years old and no amateur experience. Gamboa is already 29 years old with mass amateur experience... huge difference between the two there. One was still just a kid learning on the job and the other is a four time Cuban national champion with an Olympic gold medal...

all the experience talk doesnt mean anything. gamboa can get ko'd in his next fight and then beat lopez in the following fight and become a star. nobody gives a **** about amatuer experience, gold medals etc. the people that pay to watch boxing want to see good fights period. thats why pac is a star even though he has 3 losses. gamboa and lopez wont be ruined by a loss. well maybe gamboa since he has no following but lopez has the puerto rican fans so he's good.

No it won't. Most people don't even know who Gamboa is and Juanma is just coming into his own. Gamboa can't even sell a single ticket to any of his fights. He has no fan following in the United States. He needs a fight against a name guy like Lopez had with Marquez.

They can keep fighting marquez's or vazquez's or whoever else is out there and it wont change anything.

There was a good stretch where every Gamboa fight was on TV whether it was ESPN HBO or Showtime he was knocking people out just about every time so if he doesn't have a following now he never will unfortunately.

Just put the fight at MSG in NY the Saturday before the PR parade, perferably 2012.this is not a MGM mega fight to be in las Vegas, keep them on the east coast.gamboa is not getting any bigger as far as fan base is concerned and juanma/Marquez fight in Vegas had less than 5,000-6,000 in attendance.
