morales offered jmm a fight when both were still top rank.

    jmm turned it down.

Arum is building a monopoly. In a sport as unregulated as Boxing, these moves will find De La Hoya drowning in his own ego, arrogance and lack of business education.
It is little wonder that he is saving Alvarez as his wild card.

Also seeing as he makes money hand over fist he obviously must be doing something right, did you also forget he's getting fights on CBS and actually DOING something for boxing. Yet we have Golden Boy giving us Marquez vs Morales? You can't say thats good for boxing yet hate on Manny/Shane, at least Shane has been somewhat active for the past 3-4 years.

As for the topic, Shane had money in GBP and he left. Personally I think his wife ****ed him over after the divorce is probably sucking some guys off at GBP for 7 figures. Now JMM is leaving them and I'm sure he has a pretty valid reason if you ask me. Also as I stated this before Bob has been doing this for 40+ years GBP maybe 10, MAX. I'll go with Bob any day of the week because while he may not give us the fights we want RIGHT AWAY he still gives us those fights and it makes them and the event better. Promoting isn't just matching up two guys like HBO did with Bradley and Alex, Top Rank takes the time to develop their fighters, they are even responsible for Mayweather being who he is. He left in '06 since then he had what... 2 fights? Golden Boy is obviously not the promoter Arum is/was or ever will be, because they'll never catch up to 40+ years of experience.

          lol! owned!

Even if JMM did break it off with GBP I don't think he's going to sign with Top Rank. I could be wrong though. I just have a hard time envisioning it. Glad this fight with Morales isn't happening regardless. I'd rather see what JMM can do against a top guy at 140 before seeing Pacquiao fight him right off the bat after JMM has to move up from 135. If JMM loses to Pacquiao again, it doesn't do anything for his legacy really. Where as winning a fourth title would. I got a hard time envisioning a fight between Khan and JMM now. I don't know if JMM would fight Bradley.

Giving up the less than $2M he would earn for Morales and chasing the $8M+ for Pac and is the retirement plan of Marquez. It's just sad that we won't see Pac v Floyd in 2011 - Pac v Marquez 3 on November 2011! Don't blame Arum for being Greedy, in the long run, 1 Promotional company will do great for Boxing! Everyone fights everyone!

Rock on Bobbo. "Boxing is a business", and I can't fault any man for getting his paper.

Lol @ all the fans who supported that mantra, now hating it.
