Tyson is known all over the world, nearly everybody knows him in germany or at least heard from him.
Oscar de la Hoya is known by about 1%.
dunno about the rest of the world

Mike Tyson’s impact didn’t just devour boxing, it devoured sport full stop. Up until Feb 1990 there was NO ONE who ever made such an impression. He was a machine in the ring and an enigma to the public.

Oscar lit up boxing, and sport in America, but he was no global superstar like Tyson or Tiger Woods. Ask the general public outside of America who he was between 1997-2001 and I’d wager only a handful would know.

Well Tyson was by far a bigger superstar, but DLH has much better achievements in boxing than Tyson does.
