You think Ortiz will ever quit infront of thousands if and when he gets tagged again? That left a sour taste in my mouth because I had high expectations of Ortiz, never in my life did I imagine he would just quit when the going got tough.

For two fighters I could absolutely care less about and have never been really impressed with either. This is a great matchup for both. I'd favor Ortiz I think overall technique is further along than Berto. Both have power, berto has never been tested and ortiz failed his only real test.

            I got Ortiz.

If Ortiz pulls his **** together meaning to actually make **** happen in the fight, he can win. Ortiz won't be the smaller guy and Ortiz has some serious pop which will make Berto think twice. He has to counter Berto and pressure him hard. But IDK how Ortiz will deal with Berto's speed. He has to impose himself to slow Berto down, but this will be a fun fight IMO. Hope Ortiz stays sharp.

berto gonna kick ortiz ass. ortiz is good but once hit he forgets all his strengths and what makes him good. berto is fast and strong and will hit ortiz. if ortiz can establish his jab he can win if not berto beats him. possibly stops ortiz

I think Ortiz has to KO him. I don't like Ortiz on the scorecards because I don't think he is very good at winning rounds (mainly because of that piss poor jab). Ortiz has very good power and he certainly can hurt Berto. I think that chin of Berto's isn't very good. Having said that, Ortiz is a mental midget that starts finding a way to lose.

                I'll go with Berto........

I think he learned his lesson and will dread the thought of people saying he quit. I can understand your point of view though. I think I wanna see him succeed so bad because of all the young guns in boxing he has the best pro style and power for his weight class. I got a boxing soft spot for the kid

Sad to see them just trying to cash Ortiz out. Sucks for him.

I'm pulling for Vic but he can't stop, block, or avoid punches. He does not know how to defend himself for 12 rounds and he over commits to too many punches when he should be mixing up his attack. When you throw quicker less committed punches you can pull back to defend yourself faster, Ortiz doesn't know how to manage himself in the ring in that fashion. Should only really bomb on a guy when you know can, not just for the sake of trying to bully through your opponent. That's how you end up getting countered to death.

Berto can just be Berto and exploit the hell out of Vic's fight game. I have a feeling Vic is going to do the same thing he did in the Nate Campbell fight. But I think Berto either stops him or wins a decision. Ortiz has a chance early I think though to do some damage, but after the 5th round they usually have Vic figured out.

Even if Ortiz wins though his style will still be incomplete. Just a bad match up for the kid any way you look at it really. Who knows though, maybe he'll learn something, have an epiphany or two in there, and come out of the fight with something at least.

I'd love to see Vic win this, but I don't think he will.

Why does Andre Berto choose his opponents from a smaller weight division?

Shouldn't he be defending his welterweight title by fighting welterweights?
