That's the whole point. If Khan is genuine about fighting Prescott in the future (when he improves his record, which won't happen)

If he won't improve his record then the fight is completely pointless and shouldn't ever happen.

Unless Prescott proves he isn't a bum the fight is completely pointless and beating him would prove nothing whatsoever. Other than proving that Khan is no worse than Kevin Mitchell, who is not even a top 20 Lightweight.

Obviously there is no point in Pac fighting Torrecampo now, but Khan is not very distanced by time from his defeat at the hands of Prescott.

Time's not the issue. The issue is that Khan has improved dramatically since then while Prescott has declined dramatically since then. Prescott has lost to two bums since then and proved himself to be a bum. Plus he has never even fought a top 50 Jr Welterweight. And Khan has beaten Maidana since then, who punches much harder than Prescott and is a far better fighter than Prescott, and is a natural Jr Welterweight, which Prescott isn't. Because of that, it would every bit as pointless for Khan to fight Prescott as it would be for Pacquiao to fight Torrecampo, unless Prescott does something to prove he's still a live fighter by beating a credible opponent.

When Pac lost to Singsurat he was already a world title holder. When Khan lost he was just a prospect who hadn't yet fought anyone, nothing more. And since then Khan has proved he's now one a completely different level to Prescott who has since proved himself to be a bum.

theres no comparison in these 2 fights and Prescott shouldnt be called a bum. at least Prescott is willing to give Khan a rematch. Most fighters wouldnt give that rematch. I doubt Khan would give Maidana a rematch.
