As previously reported on BoxingScene.com, promoters Lou DiBella and Bob Arum are close to finalizing an agreement to make Top Rank the co-promoter of former welterweight champion Kermit Cintron (32-3, 28KOs). DiBella believes the agreement will possibly open the door to an all-Puerto Rican clash with WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto.

Arum signing Cintron is in no way related to Cotto.

Arum wont let Cotto anywhere near Cintron. He's looking toward the Margarito rematch, and if he wins, putting him in there with Pac again.

Bobs going to keep his friends close, enemies closer by signing Cintron and angling him away from his money-makers. He'll match Cintron with guys from other promoters or maybe Josh Clottey. If Margarito loses to Cotto I suppose Maragrito/Cintron is a possibility.

All signs point to Cotto vs Margarito II on June 11th, I doubt Cintron is part of Cotto's or Steward's plans. He had his small chance as Chavez Jr replacement a few months ago, but Cotto's shoulder surgery got in the way.

I agree 100% bro, Clottey or the winner of Karass-Jones is perfect, and then they should line him up with Berto IMO, so it could give Cintron more market Value to make more money to whoop Berta's ass....

I think everyone at 154 should be concerned on being the unified champion, cuz everyone wants to fight Pac at 154 and thats not happening without a catchweight...

That wold be a horrible matchup for Cotto.I think he's a better over all fighter,but Cintron is too big & has too much single shot power with good boxing skill,he beats Cotto head to head.

If Mayorga pulls out (which is a realistic possibility IMO) I think Cintron will be his replacement. That may even be the reason that he's signed with Top Rank.
