I was a fighter and have fought through with concusions and blackouts not even remembering much at all about the fights. Each time I dropped decisions but I am left to wonder what kind of extra and permanent damage might I have incurred. I guess when I am older I will find out.

Every fighter will ***** when a ref stops a fight on them. But at that time it's humiliation, pride and pure adrenaline speaking. Talk to Gerald McClellan and ask him what he thinks about it, if he can understand what you are saying to him.

The problem with standing 8 counts is that it can be misused quite easily like it is in the amateurs, if it is used right it is quite a good rule IMO.

As for the 3 knockdown rule, all I can say is that I don't like it, I've seen some fights stopped on the 3 knockdown rule where the fighter wasn't really hurt to the extent of getting stopped.
